Coloring

Cardz4Guyz  has a new challenge up--Any Coloring Medium

I have been working on cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids whose March challenge is cards for the boys.

So combining the 2 challenges, this is what I created.

I am way past what's up with pre-teen and teen boys. Do they still say "dude"?

You may wonder where's the coloring here. This is the way the paper originally looked

A little boring right? I used Stampin" UP! blend alcohol markers in Granny Apple Green and Night of Navy to color in some of the lines. Way better!
The large letter die cuts are from SU!. The sentiment from Whimsey Stamps are done on Night of Navy card stock with Versa Mark ink and embossed in white then trimmed down and popped up with foam tape.

Cards for teen boys are a real challenge but I hope a boy in the hospital will like this one.

That was so much fun, I decided to use the last piece of the plaid and different colors.

Circles, Circles, Circles

A new fun sketch for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches. But a challenge it is. Not the design but getting all the circles lined up. Of course as always the circles are only suggestions, you can use any shape you want. Hope you have fun with this one.

I always have a bunch of 2" strips trimmed from the 6x6 paper pads. This card was a great opportunity to use up some of those scraps. The papers are retired from SU.

The sentiment is die cut from pink glimmer paper and backed with white. I added 3 clear sequins on circles 1,6,7. They are hard to see on the picture.

We look forward to seeing how you interpret our sketch.

Spring Colors

A few days ago I received a package with bubble wrap. I hadn't used bubble wrap to make a background in quite awhile. So, I pulled out inks in SU! spring colors of Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Garden Green and made several spring color backgrounds. Then used the same colors of card stock to make a card.

The flower, leaves and sentiment are from Hand Penned Petals by SU! This card just cheers me up on this gloomy rainy day

I used the sketch by Freshly Made sketches

Spring Hello

Trying a new sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday

I chose to do both large words and use the sketch. This is an easy sketch and I am sure I will use it frequently.

The papers are from SU! now retired. I love the pastels of this pattern. I wish I had purchased more before it retired. I picked colors from the pattern--Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, and Mint Macron for the card.  I mounted the hello on black for some depth.

Spring Flowers

A great new sketch from Debbie for today's Tuesday Morning Sketches

Spring is springing. Time to pull out those pretty floral papers. My card today features some retired paper from SU called Perfectly Penned. Love those soft pastels.

I pulled colors from the flowers for the design elements. And now I see from the sketch I am short 1 ribbon. The oval was die cut and then embossed with a Sizzix floral folder. The sentiment is also SU.

With that oval shape, I think this could be an Easter card as well as a spring greetings card.

What Fun

The current challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is make us laugh.

This image and sentiment makes me chuckle every time I use it. So fun.

I can no longer read the label on the wood block stamp so can't give credit. I stamped it in Memento black ink and colored it with SU! blends. The sentiment is done on the computer. Both are cropped with SU! label dies.

Inside is also a computer made sentiment.

I discovered a couple of black smudges on the card so puppy paw prints--perfect solution.

Spring Card

So ready for spring.. Well, not today maybe, at least at my house it is cold and raining all day. However, it is spring time in my craft room.

It is Tuesday and you can count on a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I have used some retired Stampin' Up! Memories and More card pack designs. The patterns are 2 of the cards in the pack. I picked up the colors in the floral design for the remainder elements. The sentiment is also SU!. I added 3 accents with Nuvo drops to repeat the polka dots on the papaya paper.

Go on over to Tuesday Morning Sketches blog to check out the designers interpretations. We hope you will share your design with us.

Pretty Butterfly

Using this sketch from Sketch Saturday with a twist of using an embossing folder.

and the theme of use vellum from Cardz 4 Galz

I made a pretty butterfly card.

The butterfly e/f is by Recollections for Sizzix. The patterned paper is by Dress My Craft. The butterfly is an SU! die. I used a gold butterfly background for the  gold streaked vellum butterfly.  The sentiment is stamped with Versamark and embossed with gold.

Vintage with Button

Let's Craft and Create Challenges this month is suggesting use a button.  I don't usually use buttons because they need extra postage and hand cancelling. But, I do  have a whole box of buttons so knew I could come up with something for this challenge.

I tried my hand at vintage again. The background for this card is from a 6x6 pad of paper by Dress My Craft.

I used a vanilla card base. The dotted netting is tied together in the center. I think it kind of looks like a butterfly. I put that on with a large glue dot. Then found a gold button and tied it with vanilla narrow ribbon and glued that down with a large glue dot. The sentiment is an old one from SU!. Then I put a few gold pearl dots around the sentiment.

1 SKETCH 2 DESIGNS

March 7? How can 2 months of this year flown by so fast? Is it an age related thing? Don't you hate that phrase, especially when it comes from your physician?

Anyway, here we are the first Tuesday in March with a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. The sketch shapes are always a suggestion. You can use any shape as long as the design is recognizable.

Card one, I followed the sketch as is. It is a good way to use up some of those small snippets you have been holding onto. And you know you have piles of them!

Card two is an Easter card with colorful eggs in the place of hexagons. And a cute bunny on a rectangle in place of the circle.

We look forward to how you interpret our sketch. Visit the blog Tuesday Morning Sketches to check out the design team creations and then share your own.

Hoppin' Down the Bunny Trail

The great thing about blogging is getting inspiration from other card makers. Today's card is inspired and CASed from Cheryl at Paper Panacea. And making cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids

The bunny die cut is from Penny Black. The plaid is from SU Gingham Cottage. I cut a strip of a coordinating green and used grass shears on the top. The sentiment is from SU's Easter Friends. The little carrot is a part of the die cut.
This was so easy to put together, I am sure I will using the layout a lot. Cheryl suggested stars so I tried that too. Our local school team is Stars with Red, White, and Blue colors. So this will be a graduation card

Thanks Cheryl for the inspiration.
