Moose in Moonlight

A few years ago, we visited Alaska. On a hike we encountered a moose standing a few yards ahead of us on the trail. We froze and stood so still until it walked on into the woods. It was so big but yet so graceful.

Kraft card stock base. Yellow from the scrap pile. A little orange sponged on the moon. Moose punch, tree stamp, and sentiment from SU.

Celebrate the Season

I am on the lookout for inspiration to use up some of the snippets from the patterned papers in SU Most Wonderful Time Product Medley. It came with 6x6 papers so that leaves a lot of 2" strips left over. The sketch this week at The Paper Players is just perfect for the occasion.

This gorgeous paper has mistletoe with gold berries. The set comes with a couple of sheets of mistletoe and red berries stickers. I added the stickers to overhang the sides of the 2" strip. Under is a scrap of gold metallic. The sentiment is from SU's Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. It is stamped on a banner sticker that also came in the product medley.

This product medley refill kit has been the best bargain of all time. It was on sale after last Christmas. I have made about 55 Christmas cards from it. Thanks to demonstrators who post You Tube inspiration for this product. I am making a bunch of cards this year for care packages for Hugs for Our Soldiers

It is not too late for Christmas in July so I am also posting at The House That Stamps Built

Christmas Gifts

It is so fun playing with Double Trouble Paper Crafting. They are always creative with their combined challenges.

Today I am sharing a glitzy wrapped Christmas Gifts card.

The papers are from Most Wonderful Time product suite from SU. A Real Red card base, background gift boxes paper, and a strip of red/gold/green stripe. The sentiment is from SU Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. I made it into another "gift" by wrapping it with red shiny ribbon.

The premise of the challenge is Thing 1: Christmas in July

Thing 3: Twisted Sister, Time to Tie it Up. Use ribbon

Twofer Birds

I was having a hard time with the Twofer Card Challenge this month with the prompt of birds.

I thought I only had 1 bird stamp but when I saw what Darnell did with a chicken here it was like slap on the forehead--of course chickens are birds. So I pulled out one of my favorite and well used Stampin' Up! sets Hey Chick. This chick just makes me giggle every time I get it out.

What do you do with all those strips you trim off 6x6 papers? Why mix and match them on another card. That is what I did for the Onefer

The papers and sentiment are from SU! I colored the chick hair and tail with red and green.

Twofer is for your BFF struggling with wrinkles and a bad hair day or maybe another birthday.

I used SU Old World Paper EF for the background. I am showing the debossed side as it looks more like wrinkles. The die cuts are with the coordinating SU Hey Chick set. I used a bunch of different SU Blends to color the hair and tail. The sentiment is labeled Rosie's Roadshow, purchased several years ago at a local craft shop.

Christmas in July

This is the digi of the month stamp from Imagine That Digistamp. It is a great way to build your digi stamp collection. If you post a blog with their feature stamp, you get the next month's stamp free.

Aren't these little mice adorable. I colored with Stampin" Up! Blends and star gel pens. The background paper is from SU Most Wonderful Time. It is hard to see, I filled in some of the background stars with a gold gel pen.

I will also send this to Send A Smile 4 Kids.

Yeah! Another Christmas Card Done

I have been making progress on Christmas cards--way early for me. With the Most Wonderful Time product medley from Stampin" Up!, I have a bunch of Christmas paper designs already out on my desk so I just keep going with that theme.

I used a Kraft card stock card base with a strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock behind the DSP from the Most Wonderful Time pack. The trees are an old SU punch. The moose is also a SU punch I purchased at the end of last year. This is his debut. I  punched a black moose to secure behind the Kraft moose. This gave a little hint of shadow as well as made it strong enough to pop up on foam tape. The sentiment is from SU Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.

Sweet Candy Canes

I have been working with Stampin" UP! Most Wonderful Time Product Medley making Christmas cards. There are 6x6 papers in the kit. You trim them down to make card fronts and are left with 2" strips. Here is a great card to use up some of those left over strips.

I cut 2x2 squares and backed them with black. The candy canes are stickers from the kit. The sentiment is SU also.

This is for the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches

I think this will also be a fun card for the kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids Christmas in July challenge.

Tropical Cheer

On this gloomy rainy day here, I bring you some sunny tropical cheer. Have a mai-tai and enjoy!

The penguin and palm tree and sentiment are all from My Favorite Things. They are colored with SU Blends. I free hand cut a little oval to anchor the palm tree on its own little island. I used vellum die cut with SU Swirly Bird dies to create waves in the ocean. All on a turquoise card stock.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I always love Tuesday Morning Sketches. And feel honored to have been a favorite pick last week. You can see that card here
