Square Card

I don't usually do large square cards because they require a special envelope and frequently extra postage. But this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches calls for a square.
This one was a real challenge for me. I had a medallion from the Eastern Palace Suite that my SU Demo sent to me. It was already stamped with the new Lemon Lime Twist color. Coming up with the colors to go with that is where the challenge came in.
Finally, I came up with this
And here is a snap of my desk when I was finally done with the card.
See--what I said, quite the challenge. But I am pleased with the results.

Cool Frog

Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge is For The Boys
I used this cute frog and sentiment digital by From The Heart Stamps.
The papers are from the scrap box. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and also added water to the sentiment circle. The seaweed is from the So Succulent dies by SU. And of course a frog always requires big google eyes.
The sketch is by Tuesday Morning Sketches but too bad I am too late to enter there.

Dreamsicle

Remember the yummy orange sherbet/ice cream treats? Dreamsicles. Do they still make them? As I try to avoid too much sugar these days, I haven't really looked for them. But with the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown being "Sugar High", I think a card Dreamsicle is pretty safe. These are a big rage on Pinterest. I've even seen them made with paint chips.
The card is cut down from an Ombre card from Paper Studio.  Whole box in 6 different colors found at JoAnn's on sale. Take a biteout of the corner with a scallop punch. I used a confetti stamp for the overall pattern. SU for the sentiment and then an old unlabeled stamp of candles.  Add a stick inside and tie with a pretty bow.
Here, the whole card is the Dreamsicle but I can see the idea used for just the front design of a card also.

Submitting to Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge of Anything Goes
I know the kids will love these so I will have to make some in other "flavors".

Irish Toast

I found this Old Irish Toast on Pinterest. Makes a fun card.
I chose orange and green papers as they are colors of the Irish flag. The frogs are dies from Poppy Stamps. I made this for a lady who orders Thinking of You cards but also wants a few lite and fun ones too. I think this will encourage and cheer up anyone.

Mojo

So sorry to learn Mojo Monday is saying good-by. I wish Julee and all the designers the best. This is the last sketch challenge. I have enjoyed working with their sketches over the years. They have pushed my creativity with the many details included in their sketches. I have often printed out their sketches and keep them in a notebook. So I know I will be going back to their sketches  for inspiration even though they are not blogging anymore. Here is this week's sketch
I have a NBUS sympathy stamp from SU that I wanted to use. After stamping it and trimming it out, it turned out too large for the portrait orientation so I had to rotate it. I used DP from SU's Serene Scenery paper stack.

In The Pink

Send A Smile 4 Kids is having an anything goes challenge.
I have a cute pink card for the girls
I found a box of several colors of Ombre cards by Paper Studio on sale half price with coupon at JoAnn's. Couldn't pass up that deal. For this one, I trimmed down the from of one of the card bases, stamped on a flamingo and then added a strip of pink glitter paper from SU at the side. The tag was done on the computer. Inside, I carried out the tropical theme with a palm tree next to the computer made sentiment. That is matted on the back side of the ombre card.

Stitched Dies

A fun birthday card for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge "Stitching"
and Just Us Girls word week
I can't remember where I found this sentiment--maybe on my Hallmark program. I made it on the computer and cut it out with stitched rectangles. The DP is a scrap from SU. Definitely makes your vision wonky.
And the rest of the story
