Banners

This card was inspired by this gorgeous picture from Papercraft Star

Those colorful birdhouses were just saying "banners" to me. So I pulled out a punch from SU that I hadn't used for awhile. I punched 3 banners from polka dot papers from a  6x6 pack from BoBunny. I have only had this pad 4 days and already made 4 cards. Love these dots. These banners and the header are all leftover pieces. Can't waste anything, right?
To portray the birdhouse theme, I used a cute little bird paperclip. The sentiment is from SU. 2 flowers punched from the same paper as the red header anchor the sentiment strip. The sentiment strip is backed with a bright grass green.

Color Q Circles

I am getting a lot of crafting in today. This is my second post.
Playing again with Colour Q bold colors challenge.

One or 2 colors is easy for me but putting this many together is a real challenge. So thank you Color Q for forcing me to stretch.
When looking for inspiration, I found some circles in the right colors that I had scrapped from trying another project. I used a circle punch to cut out the centers to make open circles, split 2 of them to intertwine and glued them to the white cardstock. Okay, 3 colors down, now how am I going to incorporate that So Saffron? Thinking I needed something to anchor the circles, I decided on a butterfly. I stamped one from Butterfly Prints in VersaMark and used clear embossing powder. Then used a dimensional to pop it up. The Happy Birthday is SU but I put all my happy birthdays together and can't remember which set this one is from.
Since Tuesday Throwdown theme this week is Birthday Party, I will post this card there also.

Sweet Dots

I  love how quickly this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch. came together.

Last week I was in Pigeon Forge, TN and found the Scrapbook Superstore in Seiverville. Next door was the Scrapbook Clearance store. Wow, was I in Heaven!! I found a 6x6 pad of polka dot paper from BoBunny. Love, love, love all the gorgeous colors. And I have been using it like crazy all week.
The "Sweet" is from a very old baby set. The "you" and "are" are from a word set from Fiskar. I colored in the letters in sweet with coordinating colored pencils. Two purple jewels add bling.

Keep Calm

My 41 year old niece was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the mother of 2 teenage boys and 2 younger girls. We thought after the lumpectomy she would not need further treatment. Closer studies of the mass revealed a virulent form of cancer so they will be doing chemotherapy. I am sending her a care package with treats and a card to open each week of her treatments. She has a very positive attitude and a great sense of humor. So I am going with humor cards. This one
and the inside:
uses the Keep Calm stamp set from SU and this sketch from  The Paper Players
Here are some of the other cards I will use

I hope these will cheer her up during this stressful time. Please pray for successful treatments for Heather.

Bold Colors

I am not really good at putting really bold colors together so this challenge at Colour Q is really what I needed. Their color selections are

And I'm not sure I have exactly the colors as I am not very good about labeling my solid color paper.
I used a Cuttlebug IP for the swirls. The flower from Mixed Bunch and punched with Blossom Punch. The leaves are a Spellbinder's die. The sentiment is PTI, popped up with dimensionals and accented with green gems..
I used this sketch from The Paper Players

39?

The challenge at Cas-ual Fridays is using numbers on a card. Great minds think alike!! LOL!! It is really eerie but I had just completed this card a couple of days ago and here I can use it for a challenge. It would be a great birthday for someone 39--aren't we always 29 or 39? Or even 40 and beyond. If you can't beat the aging process, you might as well joke about it.

The DPs are from SU. The cupcake Inkadinkadoo, stamped and paper pieced. I added dots with markers on the frosting and then glitter glue. The cherry is coated with glossy accents. The sentiment is 1/2 from SU and 1/2 from some old numbers I have had a long time.

Summer Flowers

I love banners and sketch inspiration so had to give a try of the sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts
PPA164
I am loving SU Summer Silhouettes. That is what I used on the punched scallop with Certainly Celery and Melon Mambo. I stamped them off first so I would have the soft muted colors. The banners are all "imitation" Washi. I stamped several border stamps on white, then cut them out and notched the end. You can do this really with even a background stamp. That 2nd one is the grunge background. #1 is from Summer Silhouettes. #3 is from The Angel Company. #4 if from Fresh Vintage.

Subtle Colors

Doing double duty again with challenges from Freshly Made Sketches with this sketch

and this inspiration picture from Papercraft Star

I have a subtle, soft card just right for a sympathy card:

The focus has kraft cardstock stamped with SU Blooming with Kindness flower in white then over stamped in SU Tempting Turquoise (stamped off once) just off enough to show some white. Over that is sentiment from SU. The blue solid has the same flower stamped with Versamark. The green strip has ferns stamped with Versamark. Since I will be sending this in the mail, I made a matching button with a SI Sizzlet button die. Turquoise/white baker's twine in a bow completes the card.
Here is a scan of the inside. I typed a sentiment and overstamped it with the same flower in tempting turquoise--stamped off 3 times first to give just a subtle hint of the flower.

Nautical

I am exhausted today. So, glad to be able to sit in the craft room and create.  We had our granddaughters. ages 6 & 9. for the weekend. Then, this week is VBS at church and I am helping with crafts--lots of hyper, noisy kids! Therefore, I am doing double duty with challenges:  Curtain Call Challenge of nautical theme with this picture inspiration

and the anything goes challenge at Tuesday Throwdown
I used tone-on-tone and all stamping for my card.
Stamps: Tim Holtz for compass, Stampabilities for star, and long ago lost label for the rest.
Colors: SU chocolate chip brown, Tombow markers.
And a sequin on the AHOY--because I couldn't not put on a little bling.
Sometimes things look great unintentionally. I like the way that anchor sort of looks like it is buried in the sand.

Baby Girl

Who can resist a cute cuddly teddy bear? I was immediately attracted to the teddy bear in this inspiration picture from Papercraft Star

Here is my teddy:
The bear is from Precious Remembrance. I paper pieced the bow tie and used a little pink button for the knot. Then added a punched pink flower to the foot. Instead of 3 suitcases, I used 3 scrap DPs to build the bears platform.  A little pink bow accents the DPs. The "so sweet" is an old one from Michael's dollar bin

Thank You Soldier

This is the week we celebrate America's Independence. And we need to thank all those men and women who are sacrificing so much to serve our country. So I have a thank you card to use with my next shipment of cards to Operation Write Home.

Tuesday Throwdown and Simon Says Stamps Challenge both are patriotic theme. I used this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

Muse Inspired

Laurie at  Muse Card Club is always an inspiration to me. I love her CAS style. So I just had to play along this week using her inspiration card.

I am using her colors as inspiration. I love that green with the black and white. I tore out a page from an old hymnal and centered it on black cardstock. The green is a kind of grass cloth paper from my scrap file. The punched scallop circle has flowers from SU Summer Silhouettes. That has become my favorite. I have used it several times this past week. Sentiment is from Studio G and anchored with green rhinestone. The cute little bird paper clip is from SU. Imagine the little bird singing the hymn to bring cheer to someone.
I used this sketch from Mojo Monday. Check them out this week. It is their 300th challenge and they are giving away a bunch of prizes.
