Gift Box

It is year's end and time for Anything Goes for Tuesday Morning Sketches. This challenge will run for 2 weeks so you will have plenty of time to enter.

I made a gift box.

The Kraft gift boxes  are from Stampin' Up! You get 10 boxes for $10.00. I think that is a pretty good deal. Less than some gift bags.

It has an acrylic window. I added some blue glitter paper inside the lid. Then a skating snowman, sentiment and die cut snowflake on the front to decorate the box. I made a coordinating tag and found some blue ribbon with snowflakes in my stash.

The box is perfect size for a gift card or small jewelry.

Here are a few more that I decorated

I hope you find a little time to yourself to do some crafting during this busy season. And upload them to Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Serene Sympathy

I am trying to increase my stock of sympathy card. It is so nuch easier to have some ready than than to have to design one at the time it is needed.

All of the elements are retired from SU! The set was called On The Horizon. The background paper and fence seem so serene.

I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday

"O" is for Owl

The new Cardz 4 Guyz challenge is "Something beginning with O".

The owl is an upcycle from a freebie calendar. Die cut with circle and then scalloped circle. I did the sentiment on the computer. Easy QAS card

Vintage

Hey there, Happy Tuesday and welcome to Tuesday Morning Sketches  with this sketch

I admire the vintage style but have not been able to pull it off very well. For one, they usually have a lot of layers and I like to keep my cards fairly flat for mailing. I found this gorgeous vintage 6x6 paper pad at a nearby craft store. They  are by Dress My Craft. So most of the design is done for you. you just have to added some layers.

The butterflies are a 2 step stamp retired from SU. I added a little more color with a Stampin' Blend. Under the the butterflies is a strip of sparkly netting. The netting is a part of the package of hand made papers from Grable. I don't usually order things from a facebook ad but these are really nice papers. I think they were made in India and it took forever to get them but worth the wait.

Here you can kind of see that sparkly netting. It adds some of the texture you usually see on vintage cards.

The butterflies are attached with glue dots which were enough to also hold the netting in place. I left off a sentiment so I can use it for any occasion.

Check out the design team cards at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I hope you find some inspiration and share your creation.

Gatefold Valentine

I used the Sketch Saturday design

To make a gate fold card.

I started with a red card base 4 1/4 x 11. I wanted an overlap so I scored at 3 1/8 from each end. I covered the front flap with 2 different red designer papers. The SU sentiment is stamped and fussy cut and attached only half on the red heart side. I die cut  red glitter and white glitter hearts to adorn the front flap. They kind of get lost in all that heart paper. The white sentiment card was a little too glaring so I added 3 die cut hearts, lining up with the v in the folded front. That put them a little off center for the inside.

Right flap with a better view of the glitter hearts which are popped up on dimensionals.

 Left side flap:

Christmas Song

A fun new challenge at Let's Craft and Create to be inspired by a song. This time of year, of course I thought of Christmas song.

You can find old hymnals at yard sales or old book stores. I like to use the hymnal pages as backgrounds.

This one appropriately is Away in a Manger. I had never heard it called Luther's Cradle Hymn

I used tie dye distress ink to give an antique look to the paper. The image is Stampabilities. I filled in the star with a gold metallic pen, then scattered some small punched stars around.

2 Hearts

Continuing my theme of Valentine's Day using the Tuesday Morning Sketches

This is Mellisa's pretty sketch

These papers are retired SU! The back of the purple design has pastel hearts on it. I fussy cut 2 of them for the front. The sentiment is also SU! Hard to see in the picture, the hearts are attached with gold thread.

Check out the design team cards. We hope you upload your own creation. Have fun with our sketch.
