Kindness

The Time Our Challenges theme for June 20-July 13 is Be Kind.

I have a card to use for thank you, cheer, or just because.

This was so quick and easy. It is another design from SU's Texture Chic Memories and More Card Pack. The sentiment was already on the card. It was originally 4"x6" but I had trimmed off the edges to use on another card. I had thought I would not be able to use this part. Then I found the challenge from Time Out Challenges. To set off the sentiment portion, I lined the edges with some plain card stock. And then 3 sequins for some embellishment. That is it--easy peasy.

Make the Cards Challenge #58 is

I am CASEing a card I found on facebook by Melinda at Melinda's Rubber Room. Clicking this link will take you to her facebook page. You will have to scroll down a bit to find the card I am CASEing. She gives all the measurements so it is easy to follow. There is also a you tube video. I made these cards a few days ago and photographed them knowing someone would have a fancy fold challenge soon.

I don't know if this fold has a name but it surely is a fancy fold.

The pattern paper is from SU's Texture Chic Memories and More Card Pack. I added a seashell stamped on the right side. You can faintly see the seashells on the left side paper. On the inside, Hugs stamp is Hero Arts and the sentiment is my own done on the computer. There is plenty of white space to write a message.

I loved it so much, I made a second one with another pattern from the same card pack. The balloons are from a Newton's Nook set, colored with Stampin' Blends and then coated with glossy accents. I used a cloud stencil around the balloons so they could be floating in the sky. The sentiment is an old unbranded one. Inside is another computer made sentiment.

Summer Sailing

Summer is here. Time to get outside and have some fun recreation. I personally don't sail but love sitting on the shore and watching the beautiful sailboats.

I used more scraps from New Horizons paper by SU. These were placed on a navy background that was embossed with a wavy E/F by Sizzix for SU. The sailboat is from a retired SU set. The shell is a sticker. I left off the sentiment so I could use this for any masculine card.

It is rare for me to fine so many challenges that fit for one care.

The sketch is by Try Stampin' on Tuesday

This is a clean and layered card for The Card Concept where I was inspired by the blues, tans, and shells.

And for Cardz 4 Guyz Summer These.

Double Sided Paper

Today's Tuesday Morning Sketches is a great one to use those beautiful double sided patterned papers.

I used the Hand Penned DSP from SU.

I just used 2 layers of the paper and folded back one edge of the top layer.  The flower and leaves are from Hand Penned Petals set. It is a layering stamp with a watercoloring look. The sentiment is also a retired SU one. A Pale Papaya clear crystal is in the center of the flower.

Big Sentiments

Happy Tuesday morning. Welcome to another Tuesday Morning Sketch. It is a fun one, an opportunity to pull out those big sentiments.

I have a thank you card to share.

You will never guess where the beautiful paper is from. It is an envelope flap upcycled from some free cards I got in the mail.  Do you get the free ones from a charity asking for money donation? I always cut them apart and make custom cards. I only had enough good pattern for portrait orientation. The sentiment is from Tonic Studios. I used an unbranded floral E/F on the white.

Scrap Strips

I need every motivation to use some of those scraps in the ever mounting pile of them. The challenge at Sketch Saturday does just that.

Combined with Make the Cards Challenge to use blue

I used strips of New Horizons DSP from SU.

All the blues of the sky and water demand a sailboat from a retired SU. I sponged a bit of blue distress ink at the bottom of the boat.

I also have a lot of other colors from the New Horizons DSP so made another card with the same layout.

The flowers are from Nature's Harvest.

Black and White Note

I like using a sketch challenge as a jumping off point for creating a card. There is half the work for you. You just have to pick the papers to use.

I have found a new one to me. Although they are not really new as this is #702.

Sketch Saturday

My card

I used papers from the scrap box. The sentiment is an old SU one. Did you catch that pun?  I added red as a pop of color with the banner which is popped up on a foam strip. And if you squint or enlarge the picture, you can see the b/w baker's twine bow at the end of the banner. Inside, I stamped a note to carry out the music note theme.

The new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz

#298 Father's Day June 19th UK + US

I have a quick and easy card. The patterned paper does the talking.

I found the baseball paper at JoAnn's. I cut the banner and stamped it with an old SU sentiment.
This can be for a baseball loving Dad or a coach or anyone who likes baseball. Since I don't need a Father's Day card, I will add it to my stash for Send A Smile 4 Kids. It will be appropriate for a kid who likes baseball.

Magical Unicorn

Another Tuesday, another sketch. This one is pretty much open to wide interpretations. Let us see what you create.

All little girls love unicorns and decorations with unicorns. My granddaughter is one of them. So I had to use that theme for her birthday card.

The papers are from SU. The images and sentiment from Rubbernecker Stamps. I colored with SU blends and gray pencil. I "floated" the moon with some sponged on Pool Party ink. Then tied it all up with a pretty pink bow.

Robots

My contact at Send A Smile 4 Kids is asking for younger kids cards. Make the Cards Challenge and The Card Concept are both asking for masculine cards.

I have a CAS masculine card for the little males.

The robot and sentiment are from SU Nuts and Bolts set. I stamped it and colored some areas with Star Gel pens then fussy cut it. The strip in the background is a SU die. I used some of the cut out stars as accents. I added some silver thread on the back of the robot and then popped it up on foam tape. And somehow, the image just begged for googly eyes.

The layout is sketch from Freshly Made Sketches
