Winter Cardinal

Time for another Tuesday Morning Sketches. This one with a twist of adding a bird.

Do you get those "free" calendars from charity organizations? Well, free plus the contributions they are a asking for. I don't usually contribute but I use the beautiful pictures and upcycle them into cards. This colorful cardinal was from one of those calendars.

The ribbons are from the stash. That middle ribbon is a shiny gold metallic. The sprigs are from SU Peaceful Boughs. The holly E/F is from SU. The sentiment is from SU's Evergreen Elegance.

Check out Tuesday Morning Sketches blog for the design team creations. We hope you will be inspired and share your own creation.

pretty flowers

Using the SU! retired paper Hand Penned DSP. I love the soft watercolor look.

I used a floral E/F on the Papaya circle. The 2 small pieces are the reverse side of 2 of the floral print. The sentiment is a retired SU!

Autumn Masculine Card.

QAS card for the challenge at Cards 4 Guyz

The leave is a retired SU! one. I stamped it in yellow, orange, and red, stamping off once for each color. The sentiment is also from SU! I tied twine and raffia around to give it an organic look. All on a Kraft card base.

Inspiration from Pinterest.

Watercolor Flowers

We have a new Tuesday Morning Sketches  to get your mojo going. I hope you will visit the blog to check out the design team creations and use our sketch and share your creation with us.

I love the look of watercoloring but am not very good at it. So I tend to buy papers that have that look. This one is SU's Hand Penned.

An oval die cut frames some of the flowers I added a layer of vellum to add "glass" to the frame.. I tried a scroll die cut but it  looked too busy against the flowers and it left no place for a sentiment. So I used a sentiment and a couple of leaves.  To balance the frame I added 3 gems.

Glittery

Snowflakes and glitter just go together, especially on a card. This is so shiny in real life but photos just do not do justice to glitter.

I used SU's Balmy Blue card stock and glimmer paper. The background is an embossed flurry of snowflakes. The sentiment is an old SU die cut done in only 1 layer as I wanted it to not be heavy and distract for the framed snowflakes. I die cut a frame from some square dies. The punched and die cut snowflakes have glitter glue on them.

Inside is a stamped sentiment from SU's Brightest Glow set. I accented with a balmy blue glimmer paper punched snowflake.

The sketch is from Sketch Saturday

Little Mouse

Trying to get ahead with my stash of get well cards. Using Tuesday Morning Sketches

We have had a mouse in our house this week. Yuck!!!! Finally got him in the trap. So I guess Mouse was in my thoughts so I applied it to a card.

Here is my card.

My little mouse is a digital by From the Heart (out of business). I colored him with SU blend pens and sponged a bit of blue around the edges. The sentiment is with the same digi set. I went searching for a background paper and found this one which is the flip side of a poinsettia paper by SU. I don't think it looks very Christmasy but it sure does work as mouse fur.  I used an E/F retired from SU that I think was called linen or maybe subtle texture. You can't really see the pattern but when you touch the paper, it feels a bit like it could be mouse fur. Not that I have ever or will ever touch mouse fur. EEK!

Inside is a computer made sentiment with a little balloon stamped and colored

I hope you will check out all the design team cards at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Then share your own inspiration.

Fall is in the Air

Our trees are beginning to turn colors--due to the cool nights and warm days.

I masked the strip on the white base., then used a Stampabilties to stamp leaves in yellow, orange, and red.

The sentiment is Stampin" Up!. The leaf in the center is a sticker. I traced the veins with a gold metallic pen.

JOLLY OLD ELF

The year keeps slipping by so fast. Are we into October already? I am doing a Holiday Market in just one month. Pressure is on to get enough cards done.

For today's Tuesday Morning Sketches

I have a fun Santa card.

This is an old Stampin' Up! image colored with SU blender pens. Doesn't he look quite jolly. The DSP is from Lights Aglow 6x6 pad, currently in the Mini Catalogue. The card base is Cherry Cobbler. The letters are cut with Tim Holtz letter dies. in the Cherry Cobbler. The gold glittery ribbon was in my stash. To give more sparkle to the card, I used a clear glitter gel pen to accent the snowflakes and base,
