Frogs

I was looking for something else when my eye lit on this too long unused stamp. It is SU's So Hoppy Together set from a couple of years ago. Looking at these frogs just make me hoppy and are perfect for a cheery note card.

I actually made this card yesterday. Today when I was cruising blogland, I found this CASology challenge. What luck, I already had the card to suit the challenge.

I stamped butterflies and bees from the same set onto Granny Apple Green cardstock. Then a square of turquoise from the stash. Then a frog stamped on a Whimsy Diecut, trimmed with scissors. I colored the frog with SU Blends and the crown with a gold gel star pen. The hello die cut is also an old one from SU

I was having so much fun I decided to make 2 more. The inspiration for these 2 came from Pinterest.

Birthday Joke

I have a friend (we are both in our 70s ) who for years has told everyone she is 29. It has become a long standing joke. This card is for her.

I am playing with Let's Squash It!! challenge #7, using at least 3 folders and include a person.

The image is from an old SU set, colored with SU blend pens.  The 3 accent papers are embossed with Darice chevron folder, SU Old World Paper, and an unbranded ferns.

Inside the sentiment says "from your 110 lb. friend"--which is another joke from someone who hasn't weighed 110 lbs for mmmm..years!

Birthday Fairy

Birthday card for my 7 year old granddaughter.

Using inspiration colors from Make the Cards Challenge

The papers are from SU. The fairy and birthday sentiment is retired SU Fairy Celebration stamp set. I colored the image with SU blends.

Twofer

With the prompt of leaves, I am sharing my card at Twofer Card Challenge. Not only two cards but two different seasons.

This onefer

is all about spring birthdays. I used the Arrange a Wreath die by Stampin' Up! to cut out 2 different colors of green leaves. Then die cut a ribbon and punched a bunch of flowers and 2 butterflies. The sentiment and label are also SU.

Twofer

is all about Christmas. I used a falling snow EF on the white background. The leaves are from gold and silver paper. The flowers are a die in the same set cut from red sparkle paper with gold sparkle centers. The sentiment is from SU's For Unto Us which I think retired last year. It is so hard to photograph shiny objects. Here is a close up of those sparkly flowers

And there, I have 1 Christmas card done.

As the sentiment is NBUS, I am also linking up there.

PURSES

How many purses do you have? I am down to only 2--one for every day and one for dress up. Now that I am retired and not going anywhere during COVID restrictions, I have no need for any more. I hate to change purses anyway.

The purses are from an old SU set. Of course, you need one in every color of the rainbow as well as  the required basic black.  I fussy cut them and glued to the white base. The sentiment is computer generated. Inside is another computer sentiment and another purse.

So applicable at my age. Probably a good thing I only have 1 purse! LOL!

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

CAS Note Card

I've been into just simple note cards lately. Sometimes you don't want a specific sentiment but need something to write a few words to someone, letting them know you are thinking of them.

I shopped my old stash of flower and leaves stamps, colored the stamps with water color markers and stamped on Vanilla card stock. I used Old Olive for the card base and a leftover strip across the bottom. The sentiment is also SU. I stamped and punched out a small butterfly attaching it with glue dots leaving the wings free.

Couple of challenges for this one.

Butterfly Note Card

This week's  Make the Cards Challenge prompt is Butterflies.  Yeah, I can handle that.  I have a lot of butterflies. And, I am still working on using up a whole pack of patterned paper.

All SU products. Night of Navy card base, Seaside Spray layer, patterned paper from Paper Blooms DSP, Granny Apple Green strip, Butterfly fussy cut from retired DSP, sentiment from Enjoy the Moment stamp set. I sponged green and blue on the die cut circle.

Library Challenge

I am an avid reader so enjoy the idea of inspiration from a book. It has been a long time since I read Alice's Adventures In Wonderland which is the featured book for  The Library Craft Challenge #80.

We can be inspired by the story, the cover, or the title from this book

I'm using the cat from the cover. It is a digital by From The Heart, colored with SU Blenders. With everything in Wonderland being a little wonky, I think these SU Stitched Whimsy Embossing Dies are perfect. The marble paper layers are by Ms. Sparkle at Joann's. Inside is a computer made sentiment with the same Whimsy Die.

This is a fun birthday card for anyone, especially at my age, we have to keep our sense of humor and have fun with it.

Using up bits and pieces

I have just a few pieces of SU DSP Paper Blooms left. I am promising myself I will use all of them and not just throw them in the scrap box which is already way too full.

The backside of the pink flower paper has some really large blooms. I fussy cut this one to use for the center element on this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches. A few punched leaves tucked in behind and a sentiment complete the card. I can't give credit on the sentiment as I have pulled a bunch of hello and notes greetings and combined them into one container. I got tired of searching my stamp sets to find the one I would want.  I am sure there are better organization methods but I find this one easy and simple. I have done the same with other "themes" like birthday, sympathy, and thinking of you.

Here is the sketch

Nature Elements

I am always looking for sketch design challenges. Today I am working with Global Design Project sketch.

Kraft card base. The stamps are from Stampin' Up!'s Enjoy the Moment stamp set stamped on a circle of Very Vanilla. I tried this with just the circle design but it just did not look complete so I added a bit of another of the stamps in the background. I like doing soft nature type designs for sympathy cards. And I usually add a butterfly. The butterfly is a SU punch. The color strips are Pool Party and Sea Foam. The sentiment is an old SU one.

Here is the design sketch.

"Chickin" In

A cute note card to share today.

"Grass paper" from the stash for background. A scrap of yellow paper with watercolor spots and white are diamond dies from SU. The chick is from SU colored with Stampin' Blends and die cut. Under the chicken is grass stamped from the Zany Zebra set. Corn stalks from  a scrap of green with a new die from SU anchor the left side. I did the sentiment on the computer. I added clear sequins as "dew" in the grass. You can't really see them here but they do add some sparkle.
