Slats of Woods

I had a 6x6 stack of wood patterned paper from Stampin' Up!  After cutting the sheets down for cards, I am left with a bunch of 2" strips. I found inspiration on Pinterest for this card.

I taped five different patterns of wood 1" x 4" strips on white card stock and trimmed it with a narrow border. Then mounted it to Kraft card base. The trees are from SU's Evergreen Elegance on a die cut circle baked with a Mossy Green die cut circle. The sentiment is also SU on white strip backed withMossy Green.

I used the center cross row on the Tic Tac Toe challenge on The Paper Players

Pretty Thanks

When a friend does a special favor for you, it calls for a special thank you card.

Everything is from the Boho Indigo Product Medley retired from Stampin' UP!. It has been a great set to work with. It even included lots of die cut labels, flowers, and ferns. So easy.

Boy Birthday

I found some great teen boy scrapbook papers at a local craft store. It is made by Feature Art. It is full of skateboarding images.

I cut out one of the skateboarder squares and backed it with black. I found some black/white stripe paper in the scrap box. I cut it into 3 strips and alternated them on the background. I hope it doesn't make you too dizzy looking at it. The sentiment is an old SU one. This was a pretty quick card to make. I think I will do more of these for Send A Smle 4 Kids

Non Traditional Christmas Colors

I am playing with The Paper Players sketch.

I was so impressed with Ann's gorgeous card I just had to CASE it. Do go check hers out. Mine is a bit simpler design. I loved her combination of Mint Macaron with pink. Hers had silver but I found this piece of DSP from a couple of years ago. It has gold metallic strips through it. So I used gold foil under some laser cut snowflakes.  The snowflakes come white but I wanted them to reflect the pink from the label so I lightly sponged them with a make up brush with Melon Mambo. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, embossed in white on Melon Mambo card stock. For more pink reflection, I added Melon Mambo dots to each snowflake center.

Sympathy

Just getting in under the wire for Tuesday Morning Sketches I made this card earlier in the week and then got busy and forgot to post it.

I like sympathy cards to be subtle and understated. Here, I used grey card stock. I used a negative from a die cut circle as a stencil and brushed in some SU Basic Grey. Then using the same grey ink, I stamped on some stems. The stamp is an old unlabeled one. The sentiment is SU. The punched butterfly is a light purple from the scrap box. It has a Nuvo black body.

Here is the sketch

Cute Cow

My husband and I both grew up on farms. When we married, we both admitted we had had enough of that and didn't want anything to do with farming. I will have to admit, this adorable calf is cuter than any I encountered on the farm.

This is the August freebie from Imagine That Digistamp. It comes precolored. I think my printer ink is not balanced because the colors were not accurate when I printed it. The heart is supposed to be green leaves. I added some color to the image with SU Blends but left the heart yellow. I found a striped yellow print in the scrap box to use for the background. And a bit of lavender doted paper for the accent strip. The sentiment "thank you from the bottom of my heart" is also with the Pretty Calf set and super imposed  over the  image.

Also entering this at Let's Craft and Create whose prompt is Polka Dots &/or Stripes.

and Send A Smile 4 Kids where they are asking for thank you cards for staff, kids, or their families.

OOPS!

This card comes with a special story.

My 13 year old grandson had a bike wreck. He landed on his face. Had a cut at the side of his eye and a small fracture of his jaw. The oral surgeon said he was lucky to have braces on. He lost no teeth but had to have 2 teeth rewired and an adjustment of his braces. We are praising God for this not being more serious. His certainly keeps his gaurdian angel busy. He broke his arm last year. He probably need a whole host of angels.

I used a Darice cloud E/F for the background.  I thought pandas would be appropriate as they always look like they have black eyes. These pandas are from Mama Elephant. I stamped and die cut them, popped they up with foam squares and placed them flying around the card. The oops! are die cut letters from Tim Holtz. Looks like the letters went flying also!

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches but exchanged the image and sentiments

Curious Cats

Thank you Darnell for choosing my cards as a winner for Twofer Card Challenge in June. And I am so happy to be a guest designer for August. It is with mixed feelings though as Darnell has decided to end the Twofer challenges. It has stretched my creativity in new ways to imagine two ways to use a stamp. Thank you Darnell for these fun challenges.

August prompt is dog/cat.

I used an old Newton's Nook cat stamp. Gifts are a part of Christmas and birthday celebrations. And Newton is surely curious about what is in those pretty boxes.

I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the images.

My onefer is a Christmas card.

The gold star background is SU's Most Wonderful Time. Keeping with traditional Christmas colors, I used a Real Red card base and colored the gifts red and green with shiny ribbons. The sentiment is from SU's Itty Bitty Christmas set. 3 gold faceted stars accent the sentiment strip.

My twofer is celebrating a "purr"fect birthday

In my mountains of patterned paper, I could not find one that co-ordinated with the colors of the image. Maybe I should have done that in reverse--picked a paper and then colored the image? Oh well, I will just have to make my own background. I used a stripe stencil and sponged on SU colors: Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Pool Party, Lemon Lime Twist. Newton got lost on all those stripes so I die cut a scalloped circle as a background. And of course a party hat.

Nativity

I love this adorable nativity image. I found it at Hobby Lobby.

I colored the image with Stampin' Blends.  I repeated the star image several times--a strip of paper from the scrap box, 2 die cut gold foil stars. All on a Kraft card base.

Christmas Gift Tags

Christmas gift tags always sell well at the crafts fairs in the fall. Hopefully they will be live events this year. The virtual ones last year were okay but were not as profitable. I have spent the last week making a variety of tags.

The tag bases were all purchased pre-made. The snowman, pine branch and cone, the moose and the pine branches are all from SU. Coloring done with Stampin' Blends, The skating "ponds" are done with a cloud punch and shiny white paper. The penguin is by Recollections. Snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch.

Posting these at Just Us Girls challenge Wild Card Week: anything but a card.
