Coneflowers

I am having so much fun playing with the coneflower stamps in SU's Nature's Harvest. I made a set of notecards to use as a gift. Coneflowers grow in so many gardens and even wild. They are even growing all over blogland.

Number 1 for Make the Cards Challenge with this week's theme being Country Life + Buffalo Plaid

The plaid is from SU's Peacful Place DSP. I outlined the check with a white scallop that is a Fiskar punch. The sentiment is old, old and no longer has a label.
When you have inspiration and all the supplies out why not make a few more? I wanted to see if I could use the same design and stamps for multiple occasions. I think it worked.
Here are the rest of the set.

Coneflowers

I have a new stamp set from SU called Nature's Harvest which has a branch of coneflowers. I Googled coneflowers to see what variety of colors they were. I didn't find the color I used which is a blue/gray but I guess I can take some artistic license.

The card base is Just Jade. The background paper is in the Harvest Meadow DSP pack. The branch on the left is one of the dies in the Nature's Harvest Bundle. I stamped the cone flowers with Basic Grey ink and lightly colored them with a Prismacolor pencil. The sentiment is an old retired SU one.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches, using a landscape instead of portrait layout.

This is the first outing for this set so I am also sharing it at NBUS

Fall Is Upon Us

A couple more days will be the official start of fall season. Although in southern Indiana we are hanging on to summer as long as possible with temperatures approaching 90. Not much changing of leaves yet, except on my card.

The yellow paper is from a very old collection of textured paper and has the feel of handmade paper. I found it in a large bag of supplies at a yard sale several years ago. I found a package of silk leaves at JoAnn's. The strip of lace is also from my stash. The sentiment is from SU, stamped on a snippet of white.

So many fall theme challenges now.

Jingle Bells

A little early for Christmas Carols but not for making Christmas cards. I finally drug out all my Christmas paper and found I probably have enough for the next 10 years 😀😀😀😀. Anybody else with me on that? So what did I do but make a card with 2 new papers!

These cheery jingle bells are from SU old set Christmas Magic. I stamped, colored with silver metallic pen,  red SU Blends and then fussy cut them. The music paper is Parklane. The sentiment is from a new SU set Holly Jolly Wishes. The red plaid is also new to SU.

Meerkats

This month's free digi stamp from Imagine That Digistamps is a cute one featuring meerkats and some fun sentiments. This is a great way to build your digi collection. You buy the first one, make a card and upload it to their blog. They will send you the next month's featured stamp free.

There are a lot of different images in the set for different occasions. I received the birthday one free.
I colored it up and shined up the balloon with glossy accents. The label is an SU die. The PP is some left overs. It needed a little something to make the image pop, so I folded a strip of ribbon behind the image. This sentiment is not from the set. I did my own and printed it out.

A Season of Thanks

Time to think about fall and those fall colors. Although sunflowers bloom in late summer, they carry over into fall.  I love seeing a whole field of sunflowers. Among all the crazy things going on in the world, I hope you too can find many things to be thankful for.

I used an SU Very Vanilla card base and stamped some leaves all over it. Then there is another layer of vanilla over 2/3 of the base. That has an SU die cut trim in a gold color to cover the seam. Then 2 sunflowers, stamped and fussy cut. I tucked in several yellow. orange, and tan leaves in behind the sunflowers. The sentiment is also from SU. I am pretty sure all of these are retired SU products as I found them in my bin of fall theme supplies.

Lot of layers on this card to satisfy the challenge at Let's Craft and Create #175.

Cute Witch

I am not into scary Halloween stuff but cute halloween--I'm all over it. It is time for Send Smile 4 Kids challenge of non scary Halloween cards for the kids. I have already sent my Halloween cards to my SS4K rep so I am sharing one I made for my granddaughter who is 7. She like silly riddles too so this is the perfect combination.

Since the riddle is about a beach, I sponged a beach scene with make up brushes on a white card base and then mounted that onto Bermuda Bay from SU. The witch is from Stampabilities. stamped on a scrap of white paper, colored and fussy cut. The palm tree is a stamp and die set from My Favorite Things. The bat punch is Fiskars. I did the riddle on the computer, trimmed it down to fit and sponged on the sand color to blend into the beach.

I am also submitting this at Pixie's Crafty Workshop. I used snippets for the witch. palm tree, and bats. I am playing for the prize there of a Halloween package.

Oh, you want to know the answer to the riddle?  A "SANDWITCH". I know, groan.😃😃😃😃😃

Water Lilies

Still working us use up the left over DSP of Stampin' Up!'s Lilly Obsession. And what goes with a pool of water lilies but a flamingo.

The flamingo is Stampabilities colored with Stampin' Blends. The frame is from Pink and Main. The sentiment is an old one that has lost its label.

I've used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

Happy Anniversary

This cute couple is a digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps

Playing with a sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday

I did the stripes with make up brushes and 5 different shades. I colored the image with SU markers. The sentiment is an old unlabeled one. Inside I did a computer sentiment and stamped 2 small hearts.

A Big Hello

I do love big sentiments, either stamped or die cut.

The frog is waving a big hello, but not only a big hello but a hippy, hoppy, happy hello as well. The background papers are double sided from SU a few years ago, water lilies and a green texture. I am going through my patterned papers and trying to use up the bits of leftovers. I pulled out the Pool Party color from the water lilies  to add accents. The frog and sentiment are also from SU.
