Another Penguin

I am really having fun with the new Penguin Builder Punch from Stampin' UP!.

This little guy is having so much fun sliding around on his little frozen pond during snow flurries.

The E/F is by Cuttlebug. The pond is a diaroma die from SU. The sentiment is also SU.

I winked up the black part of the penguin to make him look shiny. I streaked some Stickles Glitter Glue around the pond to make it look icy.

Check out the other 2 penguin cards here

I am entering this at  Just Us Girls challenge CAS #704 with the prompt to  use just the center of your card.

Fall Theme

Last Tuesday of October and it is Halloween. I am sharing more of a general fall theme card for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches

The papers are from Carta Bella and Park Lane. The rest is from Stampin' UP!

Inside I stamped and colored 2 more pumpkins.

I hope you will check out the design team inspiration and share a creation of your own.

Penguins

Penguins are one of my favorite zoo animals. I would love to see them in their natural habitat but don't like the cold that much. I bought the new Penguin Builder punch from Stampin' Up! I love it so much I couldn't stop playing with it.

The background paper is from my mountain of Christmas papers. The sentiment I've had for a long time. It may be from My Favorite Things.

And a twofer:

See, I told you I couldn't stop playing with it. Their little feet can be positioned in front to make it look like sitting or in the back to look like standing. The white piece is die cut with a curvy die from SU. Background papers again from the stash. I added some small punched snowflakes and coated them with glitter glue. They really do sparkle but the photo doesn't show it well.

A Dog Christmas

A cute dog card for Cardz 4 Galz challenge #210 dogs/puppies.

The 2 patterns are from a Memories and More card pack from Stampin' Up! The dog is fussy cut out of one of the coordinating papers. Doesn't he look so proud of himself all decorated for Christmas? The sentiment is an old one from my stash.

Triple Frame

Time for another Tuesday Morning Sketches I found this one to be a challenge for me. I hope you will be inspired and share your own creation on the blog.

Here is the sketch:

I rotated to landscape and used the same paper for both side rather than a contrast. Dividing it diagonally by the same piece as the background.

I used a white card base, Old Olive cardstock from Stampin' Up!, and a patterned paper also SU!. Using multiple layers of deckle edged rectangle die, I made the frames. The center piece is white with Old Olive ink.

I decided that was a fun card to make so I continued the sketch with 2 more cards. Do you tend to do that too-- While the dies or stamps are out, make duplicate cards.

And then I was left with the in-between frames so had to do something with them.

Those die cut stems are Tim Holtz and the paper SU!.
I hope you have been inspired. Check out the other team members. Have fun with this sketch. And be sure to come back to share your design.

Santa's Train

I know the kids will love these images. They are so fun.

The trains are from Stampin' Up! papers from last year.

These are going in my box for Send A Smile 4 Kids. Their challenge this month is Holiday/Celebration Cards for Kids.

B/W Christmas

You don't usually think of black and white as Christmas card colors. But they can be quite elegant, calm, and peaceful. So I chose them for this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches

I appears as a slimline card. But you can make any size as long as the sketch is recognizable. I chose the standard A2 card.

I found the pre-made center panel (SU! retired) in my box of Christmas papers It goes well with the b/w snowflake paper. I added some silver and white glitter ribbon and some punched silver stars. I popped up the panel with foam tape.

I hope our sketch this week challenges and inspires you to make a card and share it on our blog.

Jack-o-Lantern

Where did that name come from? I get the lantern part--what about the Jack? Maybe I need to Google it when I am done here.

Anyway, I have a cute one to share

for Can You Handle The Pressure--use an embossing folder with a twist of spooky. I used a circle E/F to mimic pumpkin shapers. Not sure if the pumpkin is very spooky. The sentiment is an old one from SU!

Autumn Masculine

Some end pieces of plaids and dots from Carta Bella 6x6 paper. Then a loop of rafia, some die cut leaves and a sheaf of wheat behind the sentiment from SU on a punched label  Perfect fall masculine card.

Inside I did a computer made sentiment and added the rest of the dotted piece.

Entering this at Cardz 4 Guyz theme of autumn, shades of brown.

Also at The Card Concept (Autumn Chill).  My layered card was inspired by the fall leaves in the inspiration picture.

A loose interpretation of the sketch at Sketch Saturday turned to portrait.

Starry Night

There is a fun festive new sketch up for Tuesday Morning Sketches I hope you will give it a try. You know if you don't like stars, you may use another shape.

I used a dark grey for the card. Then a layer of a shimmery grey (which looks lavender in the photo) Then 3 strips of grey patterns from scraps. And 3 die cut silver metallic stars. I added a silver embossed sentiment. I can see now, I inverted the placement of the stars but that did leave more room for the sentiment.

Trees

A new month, a new Tuesday, and a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches Are you making progress on your Christmas cards?  Christmas cards are usually pretty generic but I think this one has a bit more of a masculine feel.

I used a dark grey card base. Then a silver mat. The wood grain (retired SU!) is gray and silver. The tree strip is the back side of the wood grain. I stamped a fir tree in Evening Evergreen (SU!) on white and die cut with an oval. There is light blue sponged around the tree and shaded grey at the bottom.Dark green strips behind the oval are the same color as the tree.

Here is Tuesday Morning Sketches sketch for this week.

Come over to the blog and show us your creation with the sketch.
