Shaped Cards

This week at Tuesday Morning Sketches we want to see your shaped cards, Our example is a circle but feel free to use another shape.

This one was a real challenge for me. I have not done a lot of shaped cards.

I used a scalloped die cut for a white base and then a circle die cut of Splendid Day paper from Stampin' Up!.

2 sets of leaves and punched flowers accent the sentiment.

Looking forward to see what your creations will be.

Day at the Beach

What a better thing than a day at the beach in the summer. I'd love to be dipping my toes in the ocean about now for a little relief from this scorching heat. Oh well, before long I suppose we will be grumbling about how cold it is.😀 A quick and easy card for Freshly Made Sketches

I chose these papers because they were on top of the heap. There was not enough of the sand dunes paper to cover the whole card base so I stamped an overall shell background. Then bordered the dune paper with brown. I used a baby feet stamp to look like someone had walked a path in the sand. Then added the flip flop strip and 3 shells. The shell stamps are from an old unlabeled set. They are fussy cut and gluded in place.

Here is the sketch

And this paper was also at the top so I did a twofer.

No sentiments until I decide what to use them for.

Summer at the Beach

Still summertime here. People are taking advantage and sailing on the lake.

Challenge this week at Cardz 4 Guyz is going to the beach. What is more beachy than a pair of flip flops and sailboat.

The card base and lower "sand" border is Crumb Cake from SU!. The blues are scraps. I ran the background through a cloud E/F. The flip flops are from a scrap strip, fussy cut and glued on. The sentiment is SU!. punched with a cloud punch and popped up with a foam strip.

The sketch is Try Stampin' on Tuesday. I flipped the sketch so I could make "water" on the bottom.

Yellow Rose

Welcome to another Tuesday and Tuesday Morning Sketches

I have a few pieces of paper from a 6x6 pad that has a vintage look. I threw away the cover so can't tell you who made it. I admire the vintage look cards but usually can't make it work on my own. These papers have really been a help to achieve that.

I wanted the 2 rectangles to look cohesive so I cut apart 1 two inch strip. The back ground is Stampin' UP!'s  Crumb Cake added to a black card base. The yellow rose is an old unidentifiable one.  It is a solid stamp and stamped with Daffodil Delight, then shaded with a darker yellow. You can't tell from this photo but I went over the white highlights with a clear star gel pen. I used a Crumb Cake ribbon to offset the rose. The sentiment is stamped and fussy cut.I added some black gems to the patterned paper.

I hope you check out the design team creations and will make your own to share.

Witchy Halloween

Still making the Halloween cards for a fun new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I met 2 goals here. I used scraps from my ever growing mountain and made another Halloween card. The purple has a fun leather texture. I popped the image and the sentiment on foam strips. In keeping with the Halloween theme, I used candy corn stamped and fussy cut for those 3 circle.

This witch is more cute than scary so I think kids will love it.

Thank you for visiting. I hope you will check out all the designers at Tuesday Morning Sketches and join in with your design.

Music

Cardz 4 Guyz Theme for this challenge is music.

I usually do dark colors and natural elements for masculine cards. This one is way out of that theme. I found some music paper in my stash with bright colors.

I picked up colors of the notes for the base and sentiment. The happy birthday is a die cut from Stampin' Up!.

Also using this for Sketch Saturday sketch challenge. I flipped the sketch but hope it is still recognizable.

Fun Ghosts

Welcome to a new sketch a Tuesday Morning Sketches  This week is a bit of change up as it is a slimline card, although you don't have to do slimline if you prefer a different size. I will have to admit I have been reluctant to get with the trend of slimline cards and this is actually my first.

Have your kiddos started school yet? Here we are into August and fall will soon follow.

We stampers are always thinking a season ahead.  I have been making Halloween cards for a children's charity so decided to keep with that theme.

This cutie ghost is from Stampingbella. I stamped, colored, shaded, and fussy cut 3 of them. I stacked them on top of each other on a Gingham Cottage paper by Stampin" Up! And with their big expressive eyes how could I not add googly eyes. I did my own sentiment on the computer and die cut it with a word bubble die from SU!. Can you just imagine these girls dancing around to the Cyndi Lauper song? I miss those fun songs of the 70s and 80s.

I hope you find inspiration from the design team and post your interpretation of our sketch.

You are the Star.

It's August already. Are you getting kids ready to go back to school? I am way past that time in my life.

I can see so many potential ideas for the new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

Instead of circles, I chose a star background. And instead of a circle focal point, I used a rectangle. Our sketches are always just for inspiration. You can use any shape you like.

Okay I think this is last of the Stampin' Up!'s Bright and Beautiful Memories and More Card Pack. There was a 4x6 larger star card that I trimmed to 4x5/14. The smaller stars card is 3x5 backed with lime green to make it pop. The sentiment is Wanted To Say die cuts by SU!.

I love these Memories and More card packs. For an $8.50 investment, I think I have made about 30 cards. There are so many different ways to use all the images.

I hope you have been inspired by my card. Check out all the design team cards. Make you own creation and link it up.
