Carnation

Happy Tuesday! Today at Tuesday Morning Sketches we are featuring a sketch by Debbie that is Raechelle's favorite.

I have a commission to make 50 cards for a women's sorority group that sends birthday cards to their members. Their flower is a carnation. I do not have a carnation stamp but I found a pretty precolored digital carnation on Etsy. This is just one. They will not all be the same.

Black card base. Polka dots paper from my stash.I printed out the carnation and trimmed it down and backed it with black. Centering the carnation with a black border makes it pop. The sentiment is SU!

Come check out the design team inspirations and share your own creation.

Masculine Valentine

This weeks challenge at Cardz 4 Guys is Valentines for a Guy.

I like to use Kraft card bases for masculine cards. I cut a rectangle of Vanilla card stock, tore the edges, faintly stamped a script, inked the edge with Tim Holtz Tea Die ink. I stamped on some red splotches with Stampin' Up!'s old Gorgeous Grunge stamp. The LOVE die cut is from Kraft paper. I added 3 punched hearts and then a twine bow.

Another Valentine

Seriously? It seems we just hung the new calendar and here we are turning up the first page to another new month.

Tuesday Morning Sketches is spending the first few weeks of the year with design team favorite sketches from 2022. This week is Patti's favorite.

I am still making Valentines. I love the pretty colors and cheerfulness of them.

These are all Stampin" Up! papers. I used a small dot E/F on the pink strip. i thought I was all done but kept giving it the "squint" test knowing it just needed something. I decided on that pink ribbon. It makes all the difference.

I hope you join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches sharing your creation.

FMS Challenge

It has been awhile since I've entered a challenge. We vacationed in Belize for a week. Then I did a scrapbook of the pictures we took. Now I have a commission for 50 birthday cards for a women's sorority whose flower is carnation. Breaking out a new unbranded (from Amazon) carnation stamp and using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches. here is one of the birthday cards.

The background paper is from a yard sale find so no credit. The purple shimmer vellum is from SU!. I stamped the carnation several times using a Stamparatus until is was dark enough to show through to the front. The butterflies are in the same carnation stamp set. I used a trimmed off piece of the pattern paper to stamp the sentiment--also from SU!

Vintage Birthday

It's Tuesday. Time for another Tuesday Morning Sketches designer's favorites. This week we are featuring Melissa's favorite.

I have been trying my hand at some vintage cards. I is so much easier when you have this beautiful patterned paper from Dress My Craft 6x6 pad. Then I layered on a piece of sparkly netting. The 4 strips are form the scrap box. The oval die cut has an old SU sentiment. The bird is fussy cut from some old SU paper.

Go check out the inspiration from the design team and share your creation with us.

Sweet Valentine.

I have chosen this sketch this week for Tuesday Morning Sketches as my favorite

I chose a sweet valentine this time.

The papers are from SU. I found a vellum envelope in my stash. It was difficult to see so I backed it with the same pink as the card base. I cut out some hearts from the designer paper and glued them to look like they are spilling out of the envelope. Pink sequins accent the edge.

Here is my original card.

Sloth

This week Tuesday Morning Sketches is featuring Debi's favorite.

I'm trying to replenish my stock of get well cards before the flu season ramps up.

The papers are the reverse of the same sheet from SU's Ever Eden. The sloth is from SU's "Back on Your Feet". I stamped, lightly colored it with colored pencils and fussy cut it. The sentiment was die cut.

I think this image reflects how those people who  are suffering from COVID or the flu are feeling. Hopefully this will cheer them up.

This was my original card.

Valentine

Tuesday Morning Sketches is back from the holiday break. For the first few weeks, we are using design team favorites from last year. The first one is Debbie's favorite.

I have a Valentine to share

The papers and heart die are from SU. I made the sentiment on the computer so I could size it to fit the heart.

I hope you get some inspiration from the design team and share your own creations.

Guy Valentine

Most of the Valentines we make are more girly--heart prints, pastel colors, lacy and frilly.

I have some inspiration today for your best guy.

The card base and stamping are SU's Cherry Cobbler. I think the darker color is more subdued than the bright reds. I don't know who made the heart dies. Rather than ribbon, I used red and white twine for a bow connecting the hearts. The sentiment is an old one from SU! I adhered them all to a piece of wood looking paper that was lightly streaked with Cherry Cobbler. It give some depth to the card.
