Here is the new sketch this week from Tuesday Morning Sketches
On the bandwagon of Christmas in July cards, I made a Grinch theme card. This is my first Christmas card this year. How are you coming with your holiday cards?
I used a snowflake cover stamp and white ink on the solid green. It was so faint I had to trace over the designs with a white gel pen. Do you have a recommendation for a good white ink pad? I added a green/white polka dot strip to the right and then used punched snowflakes on the edge for the scallop element on the sketch. The rectangle is a shiny gold. The sentiment is a clip art printed and trimmed. A Santa hat at the top for the bow on the sketch. Finally 3 punched glitter heart accents--because "his heart grew three times that day," Each snowflake was coated with clear glitter glue.
Send A Smile 4 Kidz is having that Chrstmas in July challenge. I think kids will like Grinch cards.
I hope you have fun with this sketch and share your creation with us.
I will forever love that sentiment and I can't read it without thinking about his heart growing! As for white -- I think the best is just embossing with white powder - little more trouble but worth it.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome card! I love that Grinch quote, too. The additions of the Santa hat and the three little hearts was perfect. I'm going to look for that quote online. If I can't find it, maybe you can send me a link. I'd love to make some of these for Christmas cards. I've made a few, but I'm way behind where I should be.
ReplyDeleteA classic quote, and love the big snowflakes. (Have you ever tried Hero Arts Unicorn white ink? It stamps well and also has a little bit of shimmer to it.) Wonderful card, thanks for playing along with us at Send a Smile 4 Kids!
ReplyDeleteLove this sweet Christmas card! Thank you so much for sharing with us at SAS4Kids!
ReplyDeleteHow the Grinch Stole Christmas - the classic 1966 version is my favorite and I love that line so much. Wonderful card Donna.
ReplyDeleteSweet ca d, congrats 😊💐 happy day
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, This is such a clever interpretation of that sketch. So clever! And I love that focal point panel. Thanks so much for sharing with us at Send a Smile 4 Kids!
