Pretty Flowers

I am really liking the Garden Impressions double sided DSP from SU. All the designs make such pretty cards.
The stamped flowers in the oval are from SU Painted Petals (retired). I think it matches the DP flowers so well.
The sketch if from Tuesday Morning Sketches

Butterfly Thank You

Tuesday Morning Sketches has a fun sketch challenge for us this week.
A friend is downsizing her "stuff" with a big yard sale later this month. She let me go through her big stash of papers and let me take a bunch. So now I have an even bigger stash of papers--like I really needed that. But can't pass up free stuff right?
The background paper here is from that stash
The circle print is from SU's new Tranquil Textures. I used an old thank you stamp, masked off the words and made them into separate circles. The purple butterflies are punched from the remnants of the background paper. The polka dot butterfly is from more of the stash--kind of a camouflage butterfly.

SOAR

There is a young man in my church who is struggling with some difficult issues. He has had a rough childhood and is now living with his grandmother. I wanted to send him an encouragement card.
While looking for an appropriate stamp, I came across this DeNami hot air balloon stamp. I haven't used it in a long time. I don't know why because it is so darn cute. The letters are die cuts from a Tim Holtz letter set. The strip of DP is from my stash.
I followed the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

Twofer thank Yous

My entry in Darnell's Twofer challenge this month features die cuts instead of stamps; since the theme is geometric shapes.
I die cut squares. Used the frames on the left card and the negatives on the right card. The papers are from the scrap box. Punched butterfly and flower accent the squares. The sentiments are unlabled.

Ferns

I have a request for 24 Thank You cards so am looking for quick and easy card ideas. The sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is just the thing.
Here is my card:
Can it be any easier than this? The circle of ferns is from SU's Tropical Escape 6x6 pack. Behind it is a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist. The sentiment is an old one from Lawn Fawn. I was going to stop there but kept looking at it thinking it just needed something more. A punched tiny flower is just the balance needed.
I don't know--do you think I can leave all that white space alone?  It is hard.
Back to the desk to try more of this sketch.
Here is take 2. Looks so different with landscape orientation and colored background. This paper is from Garden Impressions 6x6 pack. Back strip from Swirly Bird dies. I added leaves and butterfly because they happened to be laying nearby on the desk and were in the right color tones.

Watercolor

The challenge at Just Us Girls is "Fast Watercolor"
My favorite fast watercolor is with Brusho Crystals. Just sprinkle them on watercolor paper and then spray with water. Easy peasy.
The DP is from SU Garden Impressions paper pack. The dandelions are from Stampendous. The sentiment is an unlabeled on. The labels are SU punches. I added 3 pink sequins for some bling.
Also submitting to Tuesday Throwdown since their challenge is "Anything Goes"

Repurposed

A friend moved away and then sent me a note on a beautiful card. I am trying to stop "saving" so much stuff. So rather than throw it into a box to save, I decided to repurpose it. It is too beautiful to throw away. I used to say recycle but don't you think repurposed sounds so much more artistic?
In her note, she forgot to give me her new email address so I will use this card to write back to her. Isn't it more fun to receive snail mail?
The roses are Memory Box dies. I free hand cut stems and punched out some leaves. The sentiment is  an old one.
The card had this beautiful design front and back so I was able to make 2 cards.
The flowers and sentiment on this one are both Stampin" Up!
I have used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

Sunny Day

My grandson is entering 8th grade and has been training all summer to be on their running team. I made this card to encourage him
The images and sentiment are from Paper Trey Ink. I made an ink smudge on the left side and decided to cover it up with a sun rather than start over.
So, it turns into an entry for CASology Week 309 challenge: Sunbeam.
Amazing sometimes what mistakes can turn into. I actually like it better with the sun.
