Twofer Chicks

When I saw Darnell's Twofer challenge this month, I couldn't wait to play along.
I love making Easter cards. The pastel colors and the cute little animals just makes me happy. And a hope that winter weather is almost over.
I've used the spring chick from SU's Welcome Easter set.
Onefer is the traditional Easter card. Special shears cut grass strips on green vellum. For the egg, I die cut an oval and then cut it in two with some Fiskar decorative scissors. I decorated the egg with various designs and inks. I stamped, colored and fussy cut the chick. Then I anchored it only in the center and "fluffed" out the wings. 3 punched pastel butterflies float above. The sentiment is an old unlabeled one. 2 punched daisies anchor the sentiment strip.
My twofer is a thinking of you. Sentiment is from The Unity Company. Three stacked chicks are sure to bring smiles to someone.

  1. So, so cute! I love them both. Your little chick is so sweet, perfect for Easter and perfect for your 'thinking of you card,' too.

  3. These are both very creative, Donna! I love the way you cut your egg with the decorative scissors (haven't seen that word for a while, lol!). All the details are perfect for your Easter design! And, you are so right about your thinking of you design ~ the person who receives it will be cheered up immediately by these adorable stacked chicks!! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #25! I hope you are taking care and staying in! Hugs, Darnell
