Road Trip

I am back from a week's road trip with friends. I guess that inspired this card.
I used a Kraft card base. Then a layer of ivory and SU's designer paper--kind of like all the orange cones and barrels we saw. The car is an old Inkadinkadoo stamp colored with pencils. The "tire treads" are from a set of grunge stamps from STAMPlorations. Then I added 3 orange pearls for "bumps" in the road. With all the construction sites we went through, there were certainly a lot of bumps in the road! The return trip is covered on the inside with the tire tracks going in the opposite way.
I used a sketch from The Paper Players

  1. This is so clever, Donna! I especially love the reference to the inevitable road construction with those "bumps!" How fun that you went on a road trip with friends!! Hugs, Darnell

  2. What a fun card Donna! I love your cute little 'bumps on the road' and your chosen colour scheme. Thanks for joining us over at The Paper Players this week!

  3. Donna, this is such a cute card! I love that little car and the tire tracks are such a fun touch. Thank you so much for playing along with my sketch this week at The Paper Players! :)

  4. I'm late in commenting on this one, Donna, but couldn't pass by without telling you how cute this is. Love the symbolism of "bumps in the road" and "return trip tracks." You're so creative!
