I can't believe how often this happens. Tuesday Throwdown challenge for the week is paper tearing and I just made this card yesterday:
Creative minds just think alike--often at the same time!!LOL!
Actually, I got the corner of the paper caught in something and the corner tore off. So I thought why not tear the other edge. Then I sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink. The DPs and ribbon are from SU. The candle stamp is Hero Arts. I just stamped on several scraps of DP and then cut out the candles and glued them over the stamp design. You never know where you will find inspiration. This sentiment is cut from a shopping bag from Silver Dollar City Branson, MO. The bag is full of "antique, Victorian" designs. I'm sure I will use more of it.

Stamping 411 challenge 244

Another great sketch challenge from stamping 411

I learned this really cool technique of curling paper from the very talented SU demonstrator, Catherine Pooler. She even has a great video to show you how.
The front of my card:
And the inside:

DPs: pool party, sweet shop. The curly paper is the reverse of the sweet shop paper. I cut out 2 of the sucker images from sweet shop to accent on the inside.
Stamps: Bring on the Cake.

This was such a fun card to make. I hope somebody really enjoys it for their birthday.

It's a boy x 2

After looking at several of the mojo monday design team blogs, I decided to make a baby card in honor of Julee who is expecting twin boys real soon. Here is the design challenge sketch:

And for you Julee, here is my card front:
And inside:

I got that cute quote off a vellum design pack with baby sayings. Cover is long gone so I don't know who to credit. The cutie frogs in the pocket are a Sizzix die. I dabbed on "warts" in a pine green with the end of a q-tip. The "it's a boy" sentiment is Lawn Fawn and the x 2 is freehand with white gel pen.The inside frogs are stickers.
I hope you have an easy delivery and I know you will enjoy those boys tremendously!!

window card

This is Stamping411 sketch for this week

I was intrigued by that suggestion of trying a window in the circle place. I have been wanting to try that so I thought here goes.Getting that circle with scalloped punch inside took a couple of tries to be centered.  I think it turned out pretty good for my first try. The front:

And inside:

Love that double sided paper. The cherries are the flip side of the cupcake paper. Sentiments are from Bring On The Cake and the Tiny Tag set with the coordinating punch.

"tea"rific

I am going to be doing a Mother's Day card sale at my local Curves gym so have been working on those already.  It is so fun making Mother's Day cards, They are sweet, frilly, girly--all the things I like to make. This one fits the CAS weekly challenge of "Tie One On"--using ribbon on card.

I did this on the scanner because I was too lazy to get out the camera and set up a shot. But I can see the camera probably would have been a better picture.
DEETS: Cream card base. Stripes and Mom from Stampin Up. Tea and "you're tea-riffic" are Fiskar stamp. EK border punch. All tied up with a pretty pink ribbon. Bow is tied with Bow-Easy.

butterflies

As butterflies are one of my favorite card crafts, I could not pass up this week's Paper Craf Star. challenge. Here is their inspiration picture:

DeNami #11

I can't believe how much I am getting done today. I straightened my craft room and decided I should mess it up again and make some cards. So this is my 2nd post today. DeNami.Designs is offering a sketch challenge this week. Here is the design

And my card:

I just love DeNami's little chickie stamps. I'm going to have to work on a whole collection. This one is Chickie with Flower. Order it here. I colored the design with colored pencils. The DP is SU. and the sentiment is PTI, The flower border--maybe Martha Stewart? And then all tied up with sheer ribbon from Michaels.

Enough play time today. Now time to start thinking about what to do for dinner.

MoJo 227 sketch

Here is Mojo Monday 227 sketch challenge

The card base is Kraft. The wood grain on the back piece is Cuttlebug IP run through Big Shot. I lightly sanded it to make the grain pop.Ticket is Tim Holtz design stamped with studioG alphabet. The tags are stamped with TAC and studioG words and punched out with SU tag punch. Lower Kraft piece is corrugated. That mesh on top is actually drywall tape. Amazing what you can find in the DH's workshop!

Rustic

Papercraft Star challenge is making a rustic card with this inspiration picture:

Here is my card:

I started with a brown card base and then used a Cuttlebug impression folder on Kraft paper for the bricks. Then tore the edge and sponged on Timber Brown and lightly highlighted the "morter" with white. The stamp is an old one from Paper Inspirations. I used colored pencils to do the red flowers. Then, I tied twine around the image for a more rustic feel.

Muppet Movies

cas-ualfridays challenge this week is a CAS movie inspired card. I have always loved Sesame Street and the Muppet Movies. Our children are grown and the grandchildren too far away. But my hubby and I even went to the most recent Muppet Movie and really enjoyed it. So wholesome and great life lessons from the Muppets. Anyway here is my frog card in honor of Kermit:

Card base is white with "bugs" IP from Fiskar. Frog and flower are Sizzix die run through Big Shot. I put the "warts" on with eraser end of pencil and pine ink. Hello is an old one from Studio G. I think I will probably be using this frog a lot. He is just the cutest!
