I don't think I have ever seen an embossing folder used on designer paper before but gave it a try for the Paper Players grid challenge. I had already selected the papers and ribbons for the Tuesday Morning Sketches and had to incorporate embossing to complete the top row of the grid.

Easter Cards
For the Just Us Girls picture challenge
I want to share the Easter cards I made for my granddaughters.
First, inspired by the ceramic bunnies on the counter
The papers were in my scrap file. I found the cute bunny in my Easter folder. I think I had stamped it at a friend's house and never used it. The sentiment is SU. The eggs are Inkadinkadoo colored with pencils.
Next, inspired by the flowers in the window
These cute chickies are from DaNami colored with pencils. The sentiment is Inkadindadoo.
Finally, inspired by all the colors in the photo
The egg is Inkadinkadoo, colored with pencils and popped up with dimensionals. I don't know who makes the pink background DP but I bought it at Hobby Lobby.
Now I better be assembling some treats and get these ready to mail. I can't believe Easter is only a week away as it still feels like winter here. Looking forward to some spring weather later in the week.

Cute Animals
I love cute critters and cute puns. So this card satisfies both. The cow is from a new set by Newton's Nook called Farmyard Friends. There are the most adorable animals in there. The sentiment was done via computer. The papers are from a mat stack of wild animal prints and I have lost the cover so can't give credit. I think I purchased it at Hobby Lobby. It is hard to tell in the picture but I used a strip of the background green and made "grass" to fit behind the sentiment.
I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
Since my cow prints are so busy, I left off the embellishments in the corners.

New Technique
Another NBUS card for Darnell.
This one has a new stamp (Lotus Blossom) from SU. And a new technique--triple stamping. Took some practice on scraps before I was happy with the results.. I used SU's Melon Mambo and Color Box violet. Both are really intense colors so I stamped off at least once for each layer. The sponged Color Box sky blue came about because I smudged a pencil mark. Turns out I kind of like it better that way. The sentiment is from SU.

New Schtuff and Inspiration
I am playing with new stamps and techniques today for the NBUS challenge djkardkreations. Darnell is such a clever blogist (is that a word?) She is always creative and cheerful. This is her NBUS challeng #4
So I have some new SU stamps to use. This one is also a case of an idea if not literal copy of a card by Darnell. She used a tissue box for her inspiration. Here is her box and card.

I masked off an area with Post It Note strip and then used a leaf stamp from the Crazy About You set and a flower from Painted Petals. Stamped them in VersaMark and then embossed with clear embossing powder. The sentiment is an old SU one stamped in Baked Brown Sugar in that masked off area. You can see mine is not quite as literal a reproduction but gives the same idea.

Cheery Neon Dots
Sometimes "thinking of you" cards need to me kind of subdued, other times bright and cheery. I'll say today, my card is very bright and cheery.
for the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch
Sometimes I take liberties with sketches but this one is true to the sketch. I used a Cuttlebug impression folder on the neon green. The circles are from my scrap file. The butterfly is stamped in Melon Mambo from SU and punched out. The antenna are black scrapper's floss and 3 little black pearls make the body. The sentiment is from SU's new set Sheltering Tree and done in Melon Mambo. I like the delicate font of this stamp. Inside I backed the sentiment with more neon green and repeated the bright yellow dotted paper as an accent strip.
I'll keep this in my stash and have a ready card for a friend who needs cheering up.

Festive 40
There is a lot of teasing about turning 40 so I thought along with the black stripe, I would add a little festive with glitter on this birthday card.
I was inspired by Tuesday Morning Sketches
And this design adapted really well to the challenge from Tuesday Throwdown to use more than one fold.
The cupcake stamp is a really, really old one so I don't know who makes it. I paper pieced the cupcake paper with red stripe from SU. The b&w strip as well as sentiment is also from SU. The 4 & 0 are stickers. I dotted on some red dots with a pen and then covered the icing with glitter glue. The cherry was colored with a water color pen and then Crystal Effects.
While browsing blogs this morning, I found my clean and layered card would also meet the challenge at The Card Concept using cupcakes and Time Out Challenges for using black and white with a splash of 1 color.
I found the sentiment inside from a Hallmark Cardmaking Program. Of course I had to add a strip of the black here also.

The Star
Thinking about who I will know graduating from the local high school this year. Their colors are red/white/blue and team name is stars. So this is for them.
I cut out a couple of square frames, interlocked them and centered over a scrap of white stamped with sentiment from Stampabilities. The beige/white strip is the reverse of the red DP from SU. That is a really shiny gold banner under the star. You can see a hint of that at the top. It came from a card kit envelope liner. It sure didn't photo well. I tried 3 different colors of backgrounds thinking it was reflecting the background color. It may just be the lighting in the room.as I am doing this late Saturday while my DH vegges in front of the basketball tournaments on TV. Some shiny gold sequins give it more sparkle. On the inside I used an old stamp from The Angel Company and accented with 3 punched stars.

Redbuds
The first sign of spring here in southern Indiana is blooming of redbud trees. They are so beautiful in clusters lining the highways. It is not happening soon as we are predicted to get 3-5 more inches of snow tonight. But, redbuds were the first thing I thought of when I saw the challenge at The Paper Players
and I am combining with a CAS thinking of you card for The Card Concept
The tree bases are one from Rubber Stampede. Then I stamped it again on scrap paper and cut out to make a mask off all but limbs. Then I used a stamp from SU's Gorgeous Grunge to stamp Melon Mambo over and over to fill the trees with redbud blossoms. The the sentiment and the grass area are from the new SU Sheltering Tree set. The base is Melon Mambo cardstock.

Baby Boy
I needed a baby boy card for a shower this weekend. Using Tuesday Throwdown theme of "circles" and this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches
I got 1 card and 2 challenges done today.
The circles are punched out of scraps. The image is from SU colored with pencils. Green bamboo cord tied to the top. The impressions are from a Fiskar plate run through Big Shot. There is just nothing sweeter than baby feet. Here is the inside with computer sayings and a baby feet stamp from Precious Rememberances
