Unassembled Snowman

When I retrieved all my Christmas stamps and papers to start working on holiday cards, I found stickers that were parts of a snowman. I can't recall where it is from or how long I've had it. About time to use it!

I did the words via computer, cut out the rectangle, swiped a blue watercolor pen over the bottom to make a "snow" pile, and then put down the snowman parts. The DPs are all from SU as well as the snowflake sequins.

Inside is the assembled snowman which is a die from Marianne Creatables colored with some pencils. I found the sentiment on www.quotegarden.com. I hope you can make that out. Try clicking on the picture to make it larger.

Bad Kitty

It may be a bad kitty but they are so darn cute you can't be mad at them.

When I had a cat, he loved to climb into the Christmas tree. One was fine, but when we added a cat, they played havoc with the tree.

Not real happy with my coloring on the tree. I tried a combo of colored pencils and then Tombow marker to shade. Need some practice there. Then I noticed I had stamped the image a little crooked. Looks like the tree is about to topple. That would be a really bad kitty! LOL!!

The little penguins from My Favorite Things are just so darn cute. So they are a natural for the "beach" challenge from The Paper Players

I used a "wave" impression folder from Darice for the card base and lightly sponged on some blue. The "sun" is a scallop circle punch with a little orange sponged on the edges. I stamped the images, colored them with pencils and cut them out. I used real sandpaper for the beach--for the Tuesday Throwdown challenge of texture. Also adding texture is the blue "leather" paper I used for water.

Merry

Today's fun card is for CAS for Kids challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids

I just received some Christmas Word dies from Ellen Hutson. I cut out merry 3 times thinking I would stack them to give them more substance. But when doing the layout for the card I decided it would be fun to repeat the word. That left too much plain white space so I embossed with star folder from SU. Then punched out gold foil stars for accent.
I know Send a Smile doesn't usually want inside greetings but I just couldn't resist this

I had also die cut christmas 3x so stayed with the repeating theme inside. The dot on the I was so small, I couldn't locate it in all the punchout scraps, I decided to go with tiny stars for the dots.
I hope it brings some Christmas cheer to some child.

Juniper Tree

We just spent a week with the kids and grands at my brother-in-law"s cabin on a lake. Lots of fun watersports, games, and of course food. My card is inspired by the beautiful juniper tree outside my bedroom window.

Kraft cardstock goes so well with nature themes so I used that as my card base. The brown strip was run through the crimper to simulate logs and tied with natural linen twine. The pine branch is an old stamp from Hero Arts. I dotted with a blue marker to make the juniper berries. The little red bird is from an old rubber stamp that I just cut off the bird. I stamped it in SU Real Red, colored it with red pencils, cut it out and glued it to the branch. . The Merry Christmas is from SU.

Quick CAS Card

I checked my stash for a get well card for a friend. I found a bunch of masculine but no feminine. I guess I send cards to more women than men. So here is a really quick clean and simple card.

It is really quick when most of the work is already done. The card is from a box of DCWV pre-embossed cards. The banner is a strip of paper that I found in my stash of white scraps. It is pre-embossed and I just colored it with a pink watercolor pen. Yes, INRL that is pink. It is rainy and cloudy here so the photo didn't come out very well. The punched circle is a shade darker pink. The sentiment is an old one from The Angel Company. I added 3 pearls for a little bling.

Ghosts

While I have out the Halloween stamps, I decided to make a few cards for Send a Smile 4 Kids.
I used this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

to create ghosts rising out of the pumpkin patch

Happy Halloween is from SU and boo is from Newton's Nook. The stripe is from SU. Pumpkin is from Inkadinkadoo, colored with pencils, and some raffia attached at the top. The ghosts are patterns from an old card making magazine, I don't remember which one. So no Great Pumpkin rising from my pumpkin patch but plenty of cute little ghosts.

Boo Crew

Boo Crew is what this stamp set is called from Newton's Nook. They make the cutest non scary images for Halloween cards.

I do not use a lot of orange so have several sheets left from a pack of SU paper. So I immediately grabbed some when the Autumn challenge from Just Us Girls came up.
I accidently smeared some black ink on the edge of the cardstock so grabbed the Gorgeous Grunge stamps and made more blobs of black around the edge. Problem solved without wasting cardstock. The striped paper is also SU.

I punched out 3 bats and stamped a spider along with a strip of the DP to decorate the inside. Sentiment is done by computer.
