Grinch Christmas

Playing along with the sketch from The Paper Players, I made a Grinch theme card.

I used a Lemon Lime card base. (Because the Grinch is green). I found this sentiment in clip art. I copied and resized it, then trimmed it to fit. It is backed with gold (for the glitter of Christmas). The red/white stripe  (for the candy canes)  happened to be already trimmed and at the top of my Christmas scraps. I trimmed a scrap of white and used a cuttlebug snowflake E/F. (for the snowfall of a white Christmas) The Santa hat (worn by the Grinch) is also a clip art, printed and fussy cut. I popped it up on a dimensional. I used a snow puffy pen on the brim and ball. Three red glitter hearts embellish the edge. (Because his heart grew three times that day)

This was so fun to make.  I usually make a few Grinch cards for families with small children.

Here is another design for one of them

Here is the sketch for The Paper Players

These both have embossing so am also entering at Cardz 4 Guyz

Non Traditional Christmas Colors

Welcome to another Tuesday Morning Sketches with this new sketch by Melissa. She does a great job of coming up with new sketches for us to use.

I know it will surprise you but I totally CASed the sketch.

Both patterned papers are retired from SU. They both have the same subtle silver leaf pattern. Those pinks were cut from the same sheet but one looks pink and the other a bit of coral. Maybe just the light reflection. There is a silver piece behind the vertical strips. It is reflecting the light coming through the window. Doesn't that make you think of theAurora Borealis>? The sentiment is SU, embossed with silver. The die cut oval is popped up with foam squares. I used purple gems in the upper right corner. They kind of blend into the background but add just enough sparkle.

I hope you have fun trying this fun sketch and share with us.

Boo

It is Tuesday again and time for another new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I like that tilted layer because I don't have to be so careful getting the layer lined up evenly.

One last Halloween card. I send Halloween card to shut-ins at church. I know they are cheered by snail mail.

The black gingham is from SU! The ghost die cut is from Die Versions. I die cut BOO from Tim Holtz alphabet dies. Two sparkly gems anchor the banner.

I hope you will join us this week with your own interpretation of the sketch.

Ghost Greetings

This is Tuesday Morning Sketch's new sketch for this week. Lots of creative possibilities with this one.

Reminder--you can use any shape as long as the sketch is recognizable. This a square card but I adapted to an A2 size. I also changed up the hexagon shapes to circles.

The polka dot paper is from Simple Vintage 6x8 paper pad. I punched out circles from some Halloween paper scraps. The ghost stamp is from Stamping Bella. I just had to add googly eyes. For the lower left accent I stamped a mini pumpkin, colored, and fussy cut it.

Inside I stamped an old Happy Halloween sentiment and just for fun put some googly eyes in the space in the Ps. And, added another mini pumpkin.

I hope you will find some inspiration from the sketch and share a creation with us.

Happy Snowman

I've been getting busy on Christmas cards. I want to share this one with a couple of challenges.

The snowman having fun skating is from retired SU Spirited Snowmen. I stamped it, colored with SU Blends and then die cut it with a circle. I sponged Pool Party ink around the edge so it would stand out against the white card base. The papers are from the Christmas scrap box which is overflowing.  Do you also have a separate scrap box with Christmas papers?

I've used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

Monochromatic

I am excited to share my own sketch for this week's Tuesdy Morning Sketches. This is my go to sketch when I am stumped.

I made a monochromatic card using different patterns in Pool Party from SU!.

On the background horizontal piece I slightly tamped some script. The vertical strip is from the scrap box. Behind the dragonfly is an oval of textured vellum.  For the dragonfly, I lightly sponged aqua, lavender, and green onto a white scrap and die cut it with a Die Versions die. Hard to tell, I winked the wings. Then accented with flat Pool Party gems. The sentiment is SU, stamped and then fussy cut.

I hope you will be inspired by this sketch. Feel free to change up the oval shape to your own interpretation. Share your creation with us at
