Get Well Humor

Remember the movie a few years ago with Robin Williams? "Patches" It was based on a true story about a doctor who used laughter as good medicine.
I have a friend going in for knee replacement surgery soon. We are retired nurses and we used to laugh a lot as the way to keep our sanity in all the stress going on about us. I know she will love this card.

The nurse image is a digital by Mary Ellen at Dearie Doll Digi Stamps. I can't remember where I saw this sentiment but this one is done via computer. All secured to a cheery yellow card base withe lines impression folder and secured with a band-aid.
Inside, I did my own message on the computer and secured with a couple more bandaids.

I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I switched out shapes and the flower accent (in my case bandaid) was moved to the other side.

And used the cue word from CASology

CHUCKS

An employee at the gym I attend must have every color of Chuck Taylor shoes made. Some days she even wears 2 different colors at the same time. They come in about 8 different colors. I just purchased a Die Namics high top sneaker die from My Favorite Things. I knew it would be a hit with the Send A Smile 4 Kids charity.
This one for the girls:

I used Stampin' Up! lines stamp. Obviously did not get it straight so let's say it is the curve on the track. Sentiment is an old unlabled set. For this one, I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

Also did one for the boys. The wood grain is from SU's Serene Scenery paper stack. The basketball is  Paper Studio paper that has the basketball texture.

Butterfly--Clean and Simple

A CAS and quick card.  The butterfly is SU die cut from white card stock ( have you noticed if you try to make card stock one word, the spell checker changes it to yardstick?) that I pounced with bundled Q-tips and lime and turquoise inks. A new technique I learned at Unity Stamp Co. I can't find the video but maybe you can search for it. I get their videos in my email.  Basically it is 8-10 q-tips bundled and fastened with a rubber band. Pounce the bundle on an ink pad and then on your paper. Flip the bundle to the other end and use for a second color. I did this to the paper before die cutting and then touched up some spots after it was cut.

Totally Glam

Today I have 2 cards for the girls for Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge Bright Colors for Kids.
This image is a From The Heart digi called Birdbrain Glamorous.

The background paper and the marble design are by Ms. Sparkle & Co--2 inexpensive paper stack pads from JoAnn's.

This one features a glitter paper I found at Walmart.
Inside both cards are the fun high heels that are part of the same digi set.

Any little princess girl will love these.

Textures

I used 2 embossing folders, words and florals, to define areas, all bordered in black. Punched out pale blue butterflies to fly across. And added a small SU sympathy sentiment.  CAS and elegant.

Birthday Fairy

I love this hippo fairy and have used it so much it has lost its label. I colored it with star gel pens for glitter. The sentiment is from one of Newton's Nook sets. The Dps are all from the scrap file.
Inside is the best sentiment that appeared in my Facebook feed last week. It had no author credit and I adapted it some. I accented it with a crown stamp and silver embossing powder.

Study in Purples

The marble paper is by Ms. Sparkle & Co. found at JoAnn's. The flowers and greenery are from SU Oh So Succulent. The butterfly is die cut from a scrap of the marble paper. The sentiment is an old well used one.

Sailboat for Dad

A lot of men would love to have a sailboat and spend the day out on the water. If your Dad doesn't have a sailboat, here is one to celebrate his day.

Everything here is Stampin' Up!. I think the Swirly Bird stamp and dies are one of the most versatile ever from SU.

Another Father's Day card for Send A Smile 4 Kids

This one is a digital by From The Heart Stamps, printed, colored with pencils, and fussy cut. The background is from an SU paper stack with a couple of punched clouds added. I glued the super hero down but left the cape free to fly behind him.
In this imperfect world, wouldn't it be nice if all Dads were superheroes to their kids?

Father's Day

Mother's Day cards are made, sent, and distributed for Send A Smile 4 Kids so we are moving on to the new challenge "for Dad or special males--from the kids"
I purchased a special edition of Stamping" Up! Paper Pumpkin. I was not so impressed with the designs that were suggested so I went in a different direction and used my kit for some Father's Day cards. The black card bases were too somber for festive occasions or even for sympathy cards. But I found them the perfect base for these Father's Day cards.
For the Dad who likes to get out there and fly kites.

It is a cold rainy day here--perfect for being in the craft room catching up on some challenges and restocking the card stash.

Star Graduate

AAACK! I am getting old. LOL! One of my son's best friends in high school now has a son graduating from high school.  Really? How did that happen?

The local high school team name is Stars so I used that theme for the graduate's card.

I have actually had this star printed paper since my kids we in high school--some 20 some years ago. Now that is hoarding! But it is great to bring out every year to make cards for local graduates.
I used several die cuts and punches to make the different size stars. The cap is by Stampabilities. The word are sentiments from SU's Sunshine Sayings.
I think my rising stars or cascading stars, whichever, fit the challenge cue word at  CASology

CASEing From The Heart Stamps

From The Heart Stamps is having a fun blog hop with the design team is CASEing each other's cards.  Check it out here. They also are challenging their readers to CASE their favorite card by the hop participants.
My 2 granddaughters are having special competitions next week. I am not able to go to them so want to send special good luck cards. I used the same image to CASE 2 different designers.

The one granddaughter loves pink. I chose some pink prints from my stash and edged them with pink glitter paper. The image is From The Heart called Luckie Birdie. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils. I did the sentiment on the computer.

This one is a CASE of Angela. I love her scalloped edges and the colors.

The next one is the same image with a good luck blue bird.
