Terrarium

I combined SU sets of Jars of Love and So Succulent to make a terrarium for a Case the Designer challenge at Global Design Project

This is the gorgeous design from Louise Sharp whom we are to case.

Teenagers have a whole other language in texting, most of which is difficult to decipher, but this is one that I actually get.

The cute bears are from a magnetic note pad I picked up in a gift shop in Yellowstone Park. I found a paper in my scrap box that just matched the bear's blue dotted dress. The letters are Tim Holtz dies cut from SU glitter paper.
The theme is taken from CASology cue word "text"

I'll be adding this to my stash of Send A Smile 4 Kids collection. Some teenage girl will love getting this card.

Die Cut Flowers

I die cut 2 flowers for another project and then decided they didn't work. When I saw this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, I knew these flowers would be perfect for this design.

I added some splotches of Pool Party ink with a stamp from Sunshine Sayings. The flower die cut is from the same set. The sentiment is an old one without a label. A Pool Party twine bow completes the design. I used the second flower inside along with a computer generated message.

Purple Ombre

Today it is a butterfly CAS for Mother's Day. Last week, I asked how many shades of green can you use on one card. Today it is how many shades of purple.

I used 3 different shades of purple for the stripes. The butterfly is a die cut from SU. I sponged on some purple dies and put purple gems on the body. The sentiment is an old one form The Angel Company stamped in SU Wisteria Wonder. The inside has another purple shade strip alongside a computer message.

Butterfly Birthday

My second card today.  I had company over the weekend and didn't get any craft time so am making up for it today. I surfed my blog reading list for the new challenges. This one is using Tuesday Morning Sketches

All the supplies are from Stampin" Up! I love the pretty designs from the So Succulent series plus the green sparkle paper from the Sale-A-Bration book. Inside I did a computer sentiment and added another die cut butterfly.

No Snow

My first Christmas card, and it is only March. I think that may be a record for me.

I used a snowflake paper from my stash for the background.The die cuts are SU's Swirly Bird set. I thought they would look like blowing snow. They are coated with Wink of Stella. The focal design as well as both sentiments are digitals by From The Heart Stamps. I colored the design with Prismacolor pencils. I added some glitter glue to the snow piles for some glistening. The ribbon has white circles on white to make you think of snowballs.

For the Boys

I think it is kind of hard to do teenage boy cards. I was excited to find this image when I was searching the internet for guitar images.

It was already colored, so a matter of copy, resize and print. I did the sentiment on the computer. The papers are from SU Cherry on Top paper stack. Coordinated punched stars complete the card.

Flower for Mom

It is so easy to make pretty flowers with the Oh So Succulent die cuts from Stampin" Up!

Just die cut all the layers and sponge with some darker ink. Glue the together and add a pearl center. The leaves are dies from Essentials by Ellen. The papers are SU also--sweet sugarplum and DP from the Oh So Succulent line.

Go Colts!

The image for this month's Stamp of The Month challenge at From The Heart Stamps is a St. Patrick's Day design but I didn't need a St. Patrick's Day card so I went a little different direction.

Being from Indiana, I saw the horseshoe as a sign for Indianapolis Colts who use a blue horseshoe as their logo. And the state bird is a cardinal so I definitely had to color the little bird red. And with a Colts theme, there had to be a football somewhere. I used an oval die cut for the football shape and backed it with what is called Basketball paper found at Hobby Lobby. Passes for football texture too. Some blue sequins make this a fun shaker card. The blue patterned paper is from my file. The manufacturer name had already been trimmed off so I don't know where it was from.
Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge is Animal Cards for Kids. The cards I send in go to Chicago area hospitals but maybe there will be a Colts fan there too.

Greens

How many shades of green can you use on one card? Several for sure, especially if they are all in a designer paper.

The fern DP is from SU's Botanical Blossoms papers. I die cut a fern (Botanical Blossoms) from scrap paper and used it for a stencil for the fern on the front. The sentiment is also SU.

Sketches

Sketches are such a great jumping off point to making cards. Gets your stagnant mojo going. I am working with these 2 sketches from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I used bits of paper from the new Succulent Garden designer paper. Since I had the paper out, I did both designs.

The chicken, egg, and sentiment are from SU's Hey Chick. I stamped them on scraps, highlighted with Prismacolor pencils and fussy cut them.

The flower on the circles is die cut from the Oh So Succulent set. I left off a sentiment so I can add it later when I decide to use the card. I think it will be appropriate for about any occasion.

Sweet Treats

Sweet Birthday Treats for a Sweet Girl.

I used the cupcakes from the Hamlet Pigwit digital set by From The Heart Stamps as well as their sketch of the week

I colored the cupcake papers and cherries with pencils, made "sprinkles" with star gel pens and coated the frosting with clear glitter glue. The cherries have glossy accents. The papers are from scrap box. The sentiment is from the Crazy For You word stamps by Stampin" Up!

Dandelions

I think spring is here at least today. In southern Indiana, you never know what it will be this time of the year.  Can dandelions be far behind?

The dandelions are Stampendous, stamped in black on vellum. The sentiment is Hampton Art.
The vellum is then wrapped around a piece of DP from SU's Serene Scenery paper stack. Here is a look at what the DP looks like

More Star Wars

While I had the Star Wars theme paper out, I went ahead and made another card. This time using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

And for once, I actually followed the sketch exactly. Well, I did add 3 extra stars.

The DP is 2 sided. The one side shown at the bottom has Star Wars printed on it. The other side which I used on the card has faint blueprints and words about the different star ships. Here is a closer look. Maybe if you click on the pictures for a close up, you can see that detail.

Stars and background of silver glimmer paper give it some bling. The sentiment I did on the computer. I Googled Star Wars Quotes and found this one. It is actually from Darth Vader but I took it out of context for this occasion.

Star Wars

Robot image and Star Wars paper with lots of shine and glitter.

It is hard to see the subtle words and space ships on the background paper from my scrap file. It has blueprints and instructions for the Star Wars space ships. The robot is SU's Boys Will Be Boys. I used red and silver gel pens as well as Wink of Stella on the robot. Silver glimmer paper and red glitter stars give even more sparkle. I left off a sentiment so the staff can make this for whatever the need at one of the hospitals for Send A Smile 4 Kids. Fun card for a little boy--or even a girl who is a Star Wars fan.

For Tuesday Morning Sketches

Bees

The one thing I like about digital stamps is they can be resized to fit whatever design space you want to use. That is what happened today. I was using the sketch at From The Heart Stamps

I made one image that turned out too large for the space so resized it to 2 different sizes so I could choose which one to use.

This is the BEE HAPPY image. So I have used the sketch as well as the twist Almost Spring.  I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils. The DP is from DMWV. The bumblebees are an old stamp and fussy cut. Wink of Stella gives the wings some shimmer.
I am also entering The Paper Players challenge Cut It Out.

I couldn't let the other sizes of the image go to waste so here are the other 2 cards.

This image seemed to fit an oval shape better. The DP is by Fiskars, found at Hobby Lobby. I added some clear gems to the flower centers.
And then the last one

A little 4x4 card with SU paper from Cherry On Top paper stack. Punched butterfly and flowers add more touch of spring.

Chickies

Here is a fun card for Send A Smile 4 Kids "Spring Colors for Kids"

The chickie stamp has lost its label. so I don't know who makes it. I stamped the bottom chick on the card stock. The other 2 I stamped on scraps and cut them out to stack up. They are colored with Prismacolor pencils. A couple of small google eyes on the bottom chick shows him perplexed about "what in the world is on my head",The side strip of DP is from SU's Cherry on Top paper stack. I did the words on the computer and just cut them our and backed with some orange.
Inside, I did another computer generated message.

The inspiration for this card came from a picture on Pinterest and a card in my home Hallmark program.
