Tall Cold Lemonade

Nothing better on a hot summer day than a tall cold glass of lemonade.

The DSP is the from a discontinued collection by SU--the set that had the soda bottles. This one has bubbles. The drink is from a Santa Vacation digi stamp collection purchased here on Etsy . I colored it with SU blender pens and fussy cut it. Then popped it up with foam tape. The sentiment is from a set of penguin stamps by Lawn Fawn, stamped on a scrap of white and also popped up with foam.

I certainly have a big enough stash to never need to shop for anything again. But where is the fun in that?!

Study in Gray

In need of inspiration for a masculine birthday cad,  I turned to the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch

Looking through my stamps, to see what I could use for the shapes,  I found these badly neglected hexagons from SU a few years ago.

Here is my interpretation:

I stamped 5 of the patterns in Basic Gray and punched them out with the SU Hexagon punch. All 5 did not fit on the edge so I decided to do the sentiment over the 5th one. The sentiment is also an old SU stamp.  I added some dimension by popping up the hexagon and sentiment with foam tape.

Cowboy Newton

Newton's Nook cat stamps are so cute. I use them frequently for Send A Smile 4 Kids cards.

This Newton image is called Newton Rides West. I wouldn't be surprised at all by a cat hiding in a boot. The image is colored with SU blender pens. The background star and horseshoe stamps are fro the same set. The star paper is from the stash. As well as the bandana print across the bottom. The Howdy is a die cut from Die Visions.

Cute Boots

Some areas of the United States are having lots of rain and you all probably need some cute boots.
The front of this card has a flap overlay. I had to hold it down as it tends to pop up.
The front flap has an adorable chickie with his yellow rain slicker and bright pink umbrella. colored with SU Blender Pens. The raindrops are glittery stickers. The sentiment is done on the computer. The DP is from a paper pad by Ms. Sparkle & Co. purchased at JoAnn's. I added a backing to the front flap so the coloring wouldn't show.
Under the front flap is a precolored digi from Wink Wink Ink, again with sentiment done on the computer. I added glossy accents to the boots for a shiny look.

 Inside is another computer generated sentiment and a row of chickie feet (also DeNami) stomping across the bottom.

After printing out the digi, I am going, What? I thought those boots were yellow. I think I probably need a new color ink cartridge. They turned out pink which are cute too. I just needed to change the original color scheme.

In the Pink

I am not so wild about plastic pink flamingos in the yard. But they are really cute on a get well card with this inside message

The flamingo and polka dot papers are from a pad by Ms. Sparkle & Co. purchased at JoAnn's. The sentiment is an old unlabled one. The big flower is from a package I won in a contest.

Wheels Twofer

Fun challenge by Darnell at this month's Twofer. It is things with wheels.
Remember the red wagons of our childhood?

The first one is for Dad.

 

Card bases for both are SU--Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler. The plaid is Ms. Sparkle and Co. purchased at JoAnn's. The wagon stamp is by Judi Kins, colored with SU blender pens. I actually found the Dad sentiment already done and in the case with Father's/Mother's day stamps. No idea why I had never used it. I think it is separate words from different SU stamps. It is popped up with foam tape.
The twofer is for the kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids. All kids love riddles and puns. My grands used to love to stump me with their silly riddles. Some of them sent them off in giggles before they could even get the question out.  So fun!

The dog stamp is from Hobby Lobby. I Googled wheels, wagons, and puns and found this sentiment, printed it on the computer and then die cut with circle dies. They are popped up with foam tape.

Hey, Pop

I suppose some kids call their father or grandfather Pop. So this card is for them. I will be sending it with a collection of others to Send A Smile 4 Kids

I didn't buy the bundle to go with this SU DSP so I fussy cut a pop bottle and glued it to a strip of Pool Party. The card base is Turquoise( now discontinued).  Stamped some bubbles above the bottle. I can't remember what set that is from. I took it out and put it with my Grunge stamps so I can always find it quickly.  I use it alot for backgrounds, bubbles, dandelion fluff.  You can't see the shine, I filled in the bubbles with a clear star gel pen. Letters are a Tim Holtz small letter die cut set with Lemon Lime Twist. The hey is from a SU sentiment, I masked off and just used the hey. Inside is another old SU stamp.

Ties for Father's Day

Do you buy your father a tie for Father's Day? Or maybe you buy him another plaid shirt. Maybe not done as much today as in the past. I have 3 ties to share for Father's Day.

I know, I know, you're not supposed to wear patterned tie against patterned shirt. But aren't  they just sporty and handsome?
The summer shirt plaid is from a Mrs. Sparkle paper pad from JoAnn's. I think the tie stamp and die cut are from SU? (several years ago). The sentiment on the tie "hanger" is from SU.

Bear Dad

Mother's Day cards finished and sent for Send A Smile 4 Kids so time to start on Father's Day.
I am taking this opportunity to CASE the Designer at Global Design Project and this week it is Brian King, the champion of clean and layered cards. I always love Brian's card and his blog.
Here is the card we are to CASE

And my version:

I have had this DSP hanging around in my paper file for quite some time. When looking for something for a guy, this one jumped out and said "pick me, pick me!"  I layered it on a Crumb Cake card base. The green background in the center is the reverse of the camping paper. On the center white piece, I stamped a "forest" with the trees from the Waterfront set. I fussy cut a bear from the paper, glued it onto a cardstock scrap to make it firm enough to pop up with dimensionals. The sentiment banner is an old SU one. I snipped into the line on the bear's arm so he could hold the banner.
Inside, I did my own sentiment on the computer and glued on another bear cutout.

We camped a lot with out kids when they were young. Had a lot of great adventures that they talk about and remember now that they are adults. They even camp with their own kids.
I hope a hospitalized child will love this one to give to his/her father.

Sympathy Card

My neighbor recently gifted me with a complete scrapbook kit by Anna Griffin. I am pretty sure she purchased it on HSN or QVC. It comes with premade pages as well as a pack of coordinating papers.
They are the prettiest floral patterns and I think this one is perfect for soft, subtle sympathy cards.

 SU vanilla card base, die cut from Wonderful Romance set, SU sentiment stamped in Crumb Cake, 2 strips of vanilla voile ribbon, probably from Michael's, and pearls in the 3 flower centers. Quick and simple but so elegant.
