Celebrate

Hey! Happy Tuesday.  New sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I love the tilted layer on this one. I am looking forward to seeing what you create.

My granddaughter just had her 15th birthday. The next day, she got her driving permit. She was so proud of that. But wow, how did she grow up so fast. She has been a cheerleader at her school. I knew I had to use this digital image called Pigwit Cheer by From the Heart. So here is the card to celebrate a birthday and a new driver.

The design paper is from SU. It is originally white with blue flowers. I wanted it to coordinate more with the yellow cards base and her school colors are blue and gold. So I used a make up brush and Daffodil Delight and brushed it all over.  I colored the image with SU blends and sponged some blue sky on. The 3 accents are blue foil paper from the scrap box. I did the sentiment on the computer.

Sailing Away

I would love to be sailing away. Hard work going on at my house this week. We have painted the master bedroom in anticipation of getting a new bed in 3 weeks but was ordered 3 weeks ago. Everything takes so much longer to get now.

I haven't had time to craft and definitely having withdraw. So I was able to find a few minutes to sit down at the desk and made a CAS masculine card.

I decided on a book fold. The papers are retired from SU. The ship stamp in a really old unlabled one. This reminds me of the antique pictures that were painted on wood. In keeping with the nautical theme, I tied some cord around the side.

This is for Make the Cards Challenge #55 to use 2 different patterned papers.

And isn't it great just after I finished this card, the new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is On the Water.

Ties for Dad

Welcome to Tuesday and sketch #658 for Tuesday Morning Sketches . So many options here. Remember the flowers are just suggestions. You may use any object, any shape. Check out  all the design team entries for more inspiration. I am looking forward to see what you create.

I bet most of us have done the gift of a tie to Dad for Father's Day. My father is no longer living so I will send this one to Send A Smile 4 Kids for some little kid can choose this one for his/her Dad. I chose to use ties for my 2 objects.

The background paper with the gray splotches already done is SU. How easy is that! The sentiment is from the out of business Angel Company. I've had the ties for a long time and have lost the label but I think the ties and die may be SU. I added some silver metallic embellishments. They repeat the gray splotches in the paper and also make me think of tie tacks.

Wild Things

What is black and white and red all over? An embarrassed zebra.😂😂😂😂 I know, I know--is that what we call a Dad joke? Well, my card is for Cardz 4 Guyz new challenge "Wildlife."

I used a couple of SU retired stamps: Zany Zebras and Diagonal Stripes.  Stamped the sentiment in red and sponged red around the circles.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

The stripes stamp is NBUS

I will send this card to Send A Smile 4 Kidz for their Dads/Special Guys challenge. I think a kid would have fun picking this card for his Dad.

Winnie the Pooh

I have a fun card to share today for Tuesday Morning Sketches weekly challenge.

Is there anything cuter than Winnie the Pooh? I remember reading all the stories to my kids. I loved them as much or more than the kids. Winnie teaches so many great life lessons. I even enjoyed the Winnie the Pooh movie a few years ago.

This is  NBUS from Unity Stamp Co. colored with SU blend pens. I used a Fiskar punch for clouds. Sentiment is an old unlabled one. The Happy and Birthday clouds are popped up with foam tape.

This is the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I used the clouds for the circle elements. This is a great sketch for an A2 or a slimline card.

I hope you will join us to check out the designer's blogs and then enter your own creation,

Hi There!

Today is a sexy card that will have you laughing. It is a digital from Stamp On It.

The papers are all from the scrap box. I colored the frog with SU blend pens and them fussy cut it. The sentiment is unlabeled. It is finished off with 3 hot pink sequins to repeat the hot pink metallic strip.

The layout is the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

Pocket Card

Welcome to another Tuesday Morning Sketches. This week we have a great sketch for a fun fold or pocket card.

I chose to make a pocket card. A fun one for a little girl. Don't they all love rainbows and unicorns?

I used Highland Heather card base and accented with a bright pink metallic paper (looks purple but really is neon pinke and a rainbow print from Recollections. The unicorn lost his label. He is colored with a rainbow of Stampin' Up! blends. Hello is an old SU one.

The inside card sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps. I tied it up with a rainbow of ribbons.

The children's hospitals are accepting cards again so I will add this to my collection for Send a Smile 4 Kids

I hope you will check out all the design team entries at Tuesday Morning Sketches and play along with a card of your own.

Vintage

I don't usually do vintage cards but love the look of it. I think there is a fine line between not enough and too much piled on.

For Mother's Day, my daughter sent me a succulent plant that had burlap and ribbon around it. When I repotted the plant, I looked at the ribbon and thought Ah, vintage card. Do you often find inspiration that way?

Additional inspiration for this card is from Splitcoast Stampers via Pinterest.

I used a Fiskar edge punch on the Kraft base. The vanilla square has some grunge stamped designs. I think it kind of repeats the burlap and lace design.  The sentiment is from SU and punched with an oval punch. The button is a Martha Stewart Punch, tied with linen thread.

The design is the sketch from Make the Cards Challenge

D is for Dog

Cardz 4 Guyz challenge #295 is "D is for..."

I chose "dog" and "day in the park"

The background is one of the gorgeous selections from SU's New Horizons pack. I enhanced it by stamping trees and birds from the On The Horizon set. Then die cute the fence from some wood patterned paper. The dog is from Great Impressions, stamped, colored and fussy cut. Doesn't he just look like he is sitting there inviting you to come play?

Graduation

Good Morning. Tuesday again? And April is over? That is 4 months already gone this year. It seems time just flies by.

At Tuesday Morning Sketches this week we are playing with this fun sketch.

I find it hard to believe my oldest granddaughter is 18 already and graduating from high school this month.  How can she be that old when I haven't aged a bit? HaHaHa!

I like to personalize grad cards in the school's colors. Her school colors are blue and gold. Here is the card I made for her.

I wanted to use the unbranded grad cap E/F for the background so had to change the orientation of my card to portrait. The stars are all dies from SU. The sentiment is an old one from my collection. I added a grad cap sticker to one of the star points.

While I had all of the supplies out, I made another card for one of the local high school grads. Several local schools consolidated in 1976 which was the bicentennial year so they selected the colors of  red/white/blue and team name of Stars.
