Ink Blend

Pattern papers are pretty just as printed but sometimes you want just a different color on them. When Make The Cards Challenge wanted ink blended backgrounds I decided to alter the original PP. I used a piece with white background and navy flowers from SU's Boho Indigo papers.

I used a pink, yellow, and green on make up brushes to blend all over the patterned design. The SU die cut is from some scrap paper in yellow and ink blended to mute it a bit. I added Nuvo drops to the body. The sentiment is an old unlabled one I have had forever. I "planted" my flowers on a Granny Apple Green card base.

Butterfly among the Ferns

Wow, Tuesday rolls around so fast. Happy Tuesday to you. And another sketch form Tuesday Morning Sketches This one by Debbie. Click on over there to check out all the design team cards and add your entry.

Here is the sketch:

I made my card in landscape.

The pretty fern paper is SU's Artfully Composed DSP. I picked up the Pale Papaya colored dots for the solid strip and also the butterfly. The butterfly is a retired SU die. It seemed a little plain so I splattered some dark green dots over it and then did the body with Nuvo drops. My circle component is die cut from vellum. The sentiment is an old unlabled one.

I did a message on the computer for inside. To add some extra interest, I added a die cut fern that I found in my stash. And oops! I forgot to take a picture of the inside and have already taken the card to the co-op where I sell cards.

Golfing for Dad

Do you watch any of the pro golf matches on TV? My husband has it on occasionally. Those men wear some really colorful outfits. So when I went searching through my paper stash for something for a Father's day card, I found this argyle pattern that reminds me of those outfits.

I found a golf bag picture on Google clipart, printed it out and made it a tag. Then I die cute 2 other tags in coordinating colors. The sentiment is an old SU one. A parade of golf balls at the bottom finishes off the golf theme. You can make golf balls by punching out small circles, run them through the small dots E/F from Cuttlebug and use the debossed side. It looks like the little dimples in golf balls.

Just Us Girls photo inspiration. I used all those bright colors.

Ferns for Mom

Happy Tuesday Greetings! It is time for a new sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches . I hope you will play along with this sketch by Melissa. The shapes are there for suggestions. You may use any shapes.

Here is my interpretation.

I am sure all mothers at some time have received a beautiful hanging fern for a Mother's Day gift. This paper from SU's Artfully Composed DSP reminds me of the hanging plants. The sentiment is an Impression Obsession die. Instead of the circle, I used a die cut fern from a retired SU set. To make the words fit, I ended up with more space at the bottom so I added the 3 elements of silver sequins there.

I look forward to seeing your creations and hope you will join us at Tuesday Morning Sketches

Multiple Tags

Tuesday again and time for another sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I have used one of the beautiful tulip print papers from the Flowering Fields DSP from SU.

The tags are 2" strips punched with SU Tag Topper Punch. The darker tag is from the reverse side of the purple tulip paper. The lower tag is Highland Heather with a floral embossing from a Sizzix folder. The sentiment on the white tag is from SU. The tulip stamp on the white tag is from the Layering Hugs die set from SU. I added a strip of heather ribbon and 3 gems.

Travels for Dad

I know, it is a little early for Father's Day cards but when the inspiration strikes, you have to go with it.

The papers and sentiment are all from Stampin' Up!, some current, some retired. I stamped a Tim Holtz globe onto the vellum map paper with Balmy Blue ink, and backed this portion with white card stock because it did not show well against the blue marble background. The blue background reminds me of clouds in the sky perfect for a fun day of travel.

Cute Bunny

I am so excited to have been selected for the design team at Tuesday Morning Sketches

I have been playing with their sketches for several years. Debbie's sketch and card are great examples of the inspiration they provide. Starting with a sketch is a great jumping off point to create a card.\

Here is Debbie's sketch for challenge #651

This cute little bunny is from the out of business Angel Company. I colored the balloons with Stampin' Up! blends and then coated them with Wink of Stella to make them shine. I used some colored pencils to shade the bunny. The sentiment is SU. The ribbon is from my stash. To balance things up, I added some pastel gems in the bottom corner.

I am usually do more of a layered card but since this one is Clean and Simple and has an animal, I am entering it at Addicted to CAS
