Frames

Just Us Girls has a beautiful photo challenge this week.
I was inspired by the picture frames and the yellows
I found a stitched square with just the flower stamped and colored in my scrap box. I added a sentiment from SU and a punched butterfly. Then layered it on 2 more squares.

Sailboat

Sailboats are good images for masculine cards.  This one is from Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird set.
I did the boat in Real Red. The star background circle is from the scrap box. The sentiment is also SU.  Looks like the sailboat is pulling a banner behind. The impression folder is Sizzix for SU.

Basketball Fan

I have a fun card to share for your basketball fan.
I had a scrap of the basketball textured paper in my stash. The gears are from Impression Obsession. I did the sentiment on the computer.  Inside I made a basketball with a circle punch and lines drawn with a Sharpie and added a computer made message.

Zen

I just wasn't sure I would ever use this side of the DP from the Botanical Blooms by SU
The reverse side is ferns and I loved that and have used it frequently. When I saw this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches,
It  just seemed to be peaceful, calm, and zen like. Maybe that is because I was thinking of a friend who needed some calm and peace in her life.
So I pulled out this DP. The die cut flowers are Memory Box. The butterflies are an SU punch. There is a touch of blue in the flowers on the paper so I did the butterflies in a blue scrap.
The sentiment is an old stamp I found years ago at a yard sale. It fit perfectly in the small oval die.
To keep with the minimalist feel, I just punched out a blue dot to use instead of ribbon.
Here is the inside with some flowers from SU Perfect Petals

"Bee"cause

I cleaned out and categorized my scrap box and found some papers I had forgotten about. I vowed to use up some of them--how long do you think that will happen?  All these papers are from that scrap pile.
The image is a From The Heart Stamps digital. Colored with Prismacolor pencils and trimmed around so you can see the background flowers a little more. The 3-D flower at the bottom is from the Botanical Blooms dies by SU with a yellow rhinestone center.

Butterflies

I love butterflies and use them on a lot of cards. So with this challenge from Time Out Challenges
how could I not play along?
I opted to use the pink colors and go with just 1 dramatic butterfly. This was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest.
The card base is Melon Mambo from SU. I sponged on some Melon Mambo ink with a Tim Holtz stencil and also used it for the SU sentiment. The butterfly is a die cut from SU. It is cut from marble paper by ms. sparkle & co. I found it at JoAnn's for $2 for 24 sheets in a 5x7 pack. You can't see it here but I coated the butterfly with clear Wink of Stella for some shimmer.

Mother's Day

I have already sent my Mother's Day cards to Send A Smile 4 Kids whose challenge is "For Moms or Special Females (From the Kids)

so I am sharing my card for my own Mother.
The card base is Melon Mambo. The flowers are from Summer Silhouettes done with Certainly Celery and Melon Mambo. The sentiment is one from The Angel Company. The label is from SU's Rose Wonder set.

Color Block

I did a really QAS card for this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches
I die cut a square from a white card stock scrap and sponged on 3 colors--SU's Daffodil Delight, Certainly Celery, and Pool Party.
Then just a dandelion image and SU sentiment. Glue it to a Pool Party base and done!

OOPS!

When I read about Darnell's intention to have a second April Fool's Day challenge, I regretted throwing away those goofs.
Wouldn't you know, another one happened. I have made this error before and you would think I should have learned not to do this. I had this card completed and thought it was really cool.
Then tried to open it and oops, I had put the artwork on the back.
UGH! How to fix it? I turned the image over, removed the sentiment--you can use your heat gun to unstick double sided tape and peel the papers apart. I then retaped the sentiment so it now appears on top of the card.
Oh, no. Now the DP is upside down. There are subtle words that you can't tell in the photo. Now they are upside down. To much deconstruction to fix. So the card is either getting discarded or maybe used anyway hoping the recipient will not notice the words.
BTW that orbiting thing is from a clipart photo. And I made my own sentiment.
