Space 'bot

Just got back from 2 weeks taking care of the grandsons while the parents went on a vacation. There is a young boy in our area who is in New York receiving chemo treatments. I wanted to send him a cheer card. I know from my own grandsons, all little boys like all things Star Wars, Transformers, and robots. This is the closest stamp I had for that theme. Does anyone know of a source for Star Wars stamps?

I used the sketch from The Paper Players.
The stamp is Inkadinkadoo colored with star gel pens in different colors. Then I picked up those colors in the banners. Green circle DP is from SU. I don't have the label for the Hello but it is stamped in SU Real Red and punched out with a mini label from SU. Just for you is from TAC.
I hope this will bring a brave little boy some cheer as he goes through this round of treatments.

candles

My son-in-law turns 40 in a couple of weeks. YIKES!!
I thought he needed a card teasing him about getting older.
I am playing with 2 challenges with this one.
The Play Date Café with colors of cappuccino, slate, burlap
Tuesday Morning Sketches

I don't drink cappuccino, but I am assuming the color is kind of like Kraft cardstock so that is what I used for the base. I took the burlap literally with the strip across. It was white so I dabbed on brown and tea dye inks to age it (pun unintended) a bit.  The candle stamp is from Stampendous and lined up on slate paper. The sentiment is from SU. I fastened the banner with 2 gold brads and colored the candle flames with gold star gel pen.

Recycled

I am a great supporter of recycling. We need to assure our future generations a good earth on which to live. So I am always happy to see challenges like the one at The Paper Players to use a repurposed or recycled item on a card. I am planning some travel soon and needed to replace our atlas which had lost it cover and several pages. I started to put the old one in the paper recycle bin when a light bulb went off--maps would make great background images. So here is my recycled card:
The truck is from SU, colored with colored pencils then fussy cut. I found the sentiment stamp at a trade show. It is from Morningstar Stamps I punched it out with a SU label punch. The stitched yellow ribbon makes a great road stripe. I haven't yet done the inside but I have a stamp from Lawn Fawn that says "wishing you a speedy recovery" that will be appropriate.

Duck Tape

Wowzer! I just had a friend come by and purchase cards. She wiped out a lot of my stash so I will be spending a few days refreshing that. But first I needed a get well for a guy friend who had a hip replacement this week. And what guy doesn't appreciate the wonders of duck tape?!!
The background is one I learned from Technique Junkie newsletter. They have lots of fun coloring tips. Subscribe here. You line up coordinating color stamp pads. Use strips of blue painter's tape a couple of inches longer than the width of the card. Press the tape across the stamp pad then press down on the paper. In order from the bottom, I used Tim Holtz distress denim, SU tempting turquoise, SU pool party, and SU certainly celery. The sentiment is done on computer. The bandaid is a Lawn Fawn stamp but I have used real bandaids before. Then a strip of duck tape across the bottom. I had to split the tape so the colors would show.
I used this sketch from Freshly Mades Setches but turned it upside down.

This is also for Pals Paper Arts color challenge of certainly celery, bashful blue, and marina mist. I think my blues are pretty close to those colors.

Flower Seeds

I have had a packet of flower seeds in my scrap box since last summer. I just knew it would make a great card someday but hadn't quite figured out what to do with it. So, thank you to Papercraft Star for their challenge this week to use seeds/gardens as inspiration.
I used a SU chocolate chip card base and then a layer of orange. The white layer is embossed with SU Petals-a-Plenty folder. I then used the tip of an orange marker to highlight the flower centers. The sentiment is also from SU punched with their label punch and put on a punched chocolate chip label. I cut out a portion of the front of the seed pack and glued to the front. Then a yellow ribbon to wrap up the whole package. Mother's, flowers, and gardens--natural go togethers.

Thanks Tag

This is my first time playing with the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. It looks like they have some very talented designers. I found them linked on Cas-ual Fridays Stamps who is offering a prize this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here is their sketch for today:

This is also for Tuesday Throwdown fun challenge of using 2 main colors, 2 ribbons, and 2 things that start with T.
White card base
2 colors: yellow and turquoise both from SU
2 Ribbons: yellow from Michael's and turquoise twine from Tim Holtz
2 Ts:  Tag I created myself with a rectangle of white--corner rounder punch and small circle punch.
Thank you from PTI stamped in SU tempting turquoise.

Retro Sketches

I've been a busy crafter today. Love those challenges, they really help me put cards together faster. This sketch from Retro Sketches was so fun to do.

Here is my take
I've been working on some Father's Day cards for a spring craft sale. This one is a "whitewashed wood" DP on Kraft card base. The small reflective pieces are strips of duct tape. The white checked larger strips are drywall tape over blue paper because the tape did not show on the whitewashed background. The sentiment is a very old one stamped in Color Box royal blue. The twine holds a washer that I raided my husband's workspace for. Hope someone's Dad really likes this one.

Get Well Cheer

I have a cheery get well card to share today. I used the sketch from MoJo Monday. I used DPs from a DCWV paper pack Butterflies and Blossoms. The sentiment is SU stamped with Lucky Limeade and punched out with their label punch. I wanted it to look more like a tag so I trimmed one end and punched a hole in the other to tie it on with ribbon. Large pearls highlight the flower centers.

This is contest week at MoJo Monday with this sketch:

I am also linking up with The Paper Players who have a fun tic tac toe challenge. I chose ribbon, tag, pearls.
