Grandsons' Valentines
Tuesday Throwdown challenge this week is Valentines. I am actually showing 2 Valentine's that I made for my grandsons who are 2 & 5. They are both into everything transportation so I thought they would like these. The airplane stamp is Stampabilities. The truck is Inkadinkado. The hearts are puffy heart stickers and some I punched out with an old heart punch that I have had forever. I colored both with star gel pens to give a little glitter. The grass is cut free hand. The dot stamps on the truck I thought looked a little like tire treads. It is a border stamp from TAC. Hard to see but I also used a wavy border Cuttlebug IP on the edges of the truck card. I doubt they will like the cards as much as the treats I will send LOL!! but I enjoyed making them.

simply hello
papertrey paperdolls challenge this week is all about simplicity. I thought I would give it a try because I keep wanting to add more to a card. So here is my card
I used white card stock. Stamped just the stems from a flower set in Studio G green sage. Added buttons for flowers. The center of the buttons is scrapper's floss colored with orange marker. I thought the polka dot ribbon (American Crafts) reflected the buttons. The hello stamp is from an alphabet set. Then I thought the card looked a little "naked" so I finished off by sponging blue sky (Color Box) at the top. You can't see that blue very well in this picture.

MoJo Monday 173
I frequently have requests for sympathy card so I made this one using the mojo monday sketch 173. They sure pack a lot of stuff into their designs, making them fun to work with.
Card recipe:
Cream cardstock, light green background paper, DPs from Rustic Stack by DCWV
Oval shapes cut with Creative Memory system.
Ribbon is double layer of sheer cream over light green, both from Michael's.
Flower's from Michael's centered with tiny pearls.
Sentiment: PTI with Staz On timber brown and sponged on edge with Distress Ink tea dye.

Stamping 411 challenge 185
This is for Stamping 411 challenge this week. I am having fun playing with some new stuff this week. The swirl stamp is from Inkadinkado. I used Versamark and then clear embossing powder. The butterfly is Stamp Affair. I used the Stamp-a-ma-Jig (that is such a super tool! Love it!) to stamp it in Staz-On Black then in Versamark and used clear embossing powder on it, then cut it out and added antenna made with jeweler's wire. The butterfly is raised with a pop dot. The ribbon is Sugar and Spice from Michaels. The sentiment is Studio G.

New Year's Resolution
Papercraft Star has an interesting challenge this week. Design a card based on a New Year's Resolution. I don't usually make resolutions, but a particurlar Bible verse has been on my mind so I think it is a good resolution: "Cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you." My problem is I keep taking my cares back--gotta work on that! So I decided to use the verse on an encouragement card. I think the floral paper is cheerful but the blue adds some serenity.
White card stock, DP from Michael's, blue card stock from Bazil, Nestabilities Labels 8, square brads, yellow ribbon is Michael's special value. I did the verse on the computer. Thinking of you is PTI stamped in sky blue from Color Box. Here is the inside:
Tuesday Throwdown
At Tuesday Throwdown, the challenge this week is to add embossing of any kind. This card I made for my granddaughter's birthday. She likes purple and pink. I embossed the lavender layer (it came with the scalloped border already done) with Cuttlebug swirls and then lightly rubbed with Pink Geranium ink pad by Martha Stewart. I make this "lollipop" flower by cutting out 5 sizes of circles, scrunching the paper, and adding a "diamond" brad in the center. Then I used clear glitter glue around the edges for some sparkle. Happy Birthday is from Stampabilites with the pink geranium ink. Accenting the flower is a purple acrylic butterfly. I'm pretty sure my granddaughter will like it--she likes anything her Nana makes for her!!LOL!!

Mojo Monday 172
This is my card for Mojo Monday 172 What a fun sketch. I think it turned out very pretty. Hope you like it.
Card and vertical strip is a lavender from "The Shimmer Stack" by DCWV
Background paper is cream embossed with Fiskar Blossoms plate. That was a great buy--6 double sided plates for 1/2 price.
DP is from The Scrapbook Wizard.
Sentiment stamp is PTI in lilac by Studio G
That butterfly looks a little weird here but it is cut from a vellum DP that had all kinds of butterflies on it. I smudged on a little Martha Steward pink geranium. Then added jeweler's wire for the antenna. It is put on with a pop dot. The scanner sort of smashes it.
The flower is petals I pulled off a large geranium centered with a diamond brad.
Then 3 square diamond self stick accents on the DP.

Stamping 411
I love Stamping 411 challenge design this week. Also loved the springy colors or their color inspiration earlier in the week. I am certainly going to use this layout and color combo again! I love it! Here is my card:
White cardstock, then green, a strip of lace, strip of yellow cardstock, dotted ribbon from Micheal's.
Nestabilities labels 8. Both sentiments are from TAC. The swirls are partial stamps (I just used the edge of one of the stamps) from Inkadinkado and are stamped in Martha Stewart pink geranium. Tags are cut
from a template then tied on with yellow grosgrain ribbon. The label is raised with pop dots.
