Season of Thanks

One thing I like about living in southern Indiana is the changing of the seasons. Although some days seem to have several seasons in one day😀. But when Time Out Challenges posted their challenge with cue word seasons, I immediately thought of fall. I love all the colors of the fall season. And large stands of sunflowers are one of my favorites.

The stenciled background if from a paper in SU's Botanical Prints product medley. I used orange and yellow randomly. The sunflower and leaves are SU"s Painted Harvest. The sentiment also SU is on a Sizzix label. I added gold and copper glittery washi tape at the bottom.  And dressed up the inside with a sunflower peeking over the edge. I added a few clear sequins enhancements, though they are hard to see. The just add a little sparkle without detracting from rest of the images.

The other inspiration was this beautiful photo at Hand Stamped Sentiments

Happy Halloween

Getting a head start on the Halloween cards for the grandkids.

The stripe paper is from the scrap box. The happy halloween from SU! A strip of orange glitter washi tape creates some sparkle. The Boo sentiment is by Craft Smart. I stamped it with Hampton Arts white pigment ink. This is the only white I have found that does a good job of white stamping.

Giving Thanks

I have a regular client who likes to send Thanksgiving cards. Here is one I made for her. I found the inspiration from a YouTube video for Birds of a Feather stamp set by Stampin' Up!

I started with Kraft cardstock. Used Versamark to stamp  2 leaves and some dots from SU Gather Together set. Then 2 scraps of paper from the stash. These papers are from Ms. Sparkle Watercolor paper pad. The rest of the layers are from various SU sets.

Also submitting at Pixie's Crafty Workshop Snippet Playground. All the parts except card base were from scraps. Playing for the great prizes, some flowers and stencils plus word stickers.

Gone Fishin'

I used up a lot of my stash of Get Well cards recently so have been working on replenishing that. Using the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches here is one:

I used a Sizzix EF to make wavy lines on the front of a SU Soft Sea Foam card base. Then Swirly Bird dies to make waves. The fish is a pre-colored digital from Louby-Loo. I did the banner sentiment on the computer and of course "fishtailed" the ends. Three blue sparkly sequins are also riding the waves.

How is this especially a get well card you might ask. The answer is inside:

I took the cut outs from the wavy die and glued them inside to make more waves. Hope the recipient of this card does not suffer seasickness.

Here is the sketch:

You can see, I made wavy lines instead of straight ones.

I think I will do another of this design with "a very happy birthday" inside for my husband who likes to fish and snorkel in the tropics.

Truckin' Along

For the sketch at  Tuesday Morning Sketches I used the SU truck again. When you have a stamp set out, do you make more than one card with it? I have a very small craft space so I need to keep things in their place. I tend to make 2 or more cards with the same images or sentiments that I have out before I put it away.
I am continuing with the masculine cards for Jill's charity. No sentiments on front because they get a non-English message inside and so nor want anything English on the front.
I used 2 scraps of patterned paper from SU. I stamped the truck and dogs (can you see them riding in back?), colored it all with SU blends, fussy cut it and mounted it with foam tape.
I know the truck is a little more centered than the sketch, but at this speeddo you think it will get over there to the side eventually. Since I used scraps of patterned paper, also submitting at Shopping Our Stash

Just Truckin'

I am doing some cards for a super busy "super girl" blogger Jill who collects cards to send to a charity, collects Red/White/Blue cards for a veterans group, and sews masks--2000 so far this year. The charity needs male theme cards. No sentiment on front because Jill inserts foreign language messages inside and they do not want English sentiments on the front.
Our road atlas was worn out and falling apart. I cut pages out and use portions for cards. I try to use parts that aren't readily recognizable. The truck is an old Stampin" Up! on and colored with SU blender pens.
