For the Dreamers

I suppose a lot of men dream of world adventure, sailing etc. Mine included--well not the sailing part but he loves traveling the world. And of course I love going with him! Where would we be if Columbus hadn't been a dreamer?
This week in blog land there are a lot of challenges that require masculine cards.
Tuesday Throwdown = Special Man
The Card Concept = Nautical Theme
The Kraft Journal=Just for Him
And tying them together with this sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches

I did a clean and layered card with Kraft card stock base stamped with a Tim Holtz compass with SU's Baked Brown Sugar. The ship and sand are old stamps which have lost their label so I can't give credit there. Dream is Studio G. I lightly colored in some water with a colored pencil.

Missing You

Still on my quest to fill the box for Operation Write Home They ask for a lot of missing you cards. Understandable as deployment separates families for long periods of time. That time away from each other must be very difficult. Sending cards for them to write notes to home is a small way I can show my appreciation for their dedication and service.
All the papers, except the Kraft cardstock base, are from the scrap file.  That's another quest--use up some of the scraps laying around.
The map banner is actually from maps I salvaged from a worn out atlas. I added 3 square stick on brass brads to anchor the banners.
I can see now that the miss you (The Angel Company) is crooked even though I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig. My glasses must have been askew.
This is for The Kraft Journal challenge of "just for him".
And I used the sketch from Mojo Monday

Happy Birthday Sailor

For a friend who likes to sail
The sailboat stamp is Inkadinkadoo stamped and fussy cut. The sentiment is SU. I used SU bitty banner punch for the flags which are SU scraps. It reminds me of a mast on a sailboat with colorful flags flying. I couldn't leave the top with so much white space so I put a punched cloud, sponged with light blue, in the "sky". Do you have trouble leaving lots of white space on a card? I really admire those who can pull that look off but sometimes I just can't let it be!
I used the sketch from Fab Friday for inspiration.

Feeling Blue?

I found a set of really cute kid's quotes at Hobby Lobby and I accidentally threw away the label so can't tell you who makes them. But this one is so cute and sure to cheer up the recipient.

The DP is Creative Imaginations. I picked up the circle colors for the banner strips. And the blue polka dot ribbon is from the scrap ribbon stash.
This is the sketch I used from Freshly Made Sketches

Tuesday Morning Sketch

I have a pretty floral card to share for Tuesday Morning Sketches
I've been working with the floral background paper and still had some on my desk so decided to go with that for today's sketch. The DPs are from SU. I used a chevron IP folder for the aqua to mimic the chevrons in the border. Punched out flower layers with 3 different blossom punches from SU. Then added red gems for bling.
Here is the sketch:
